I received my W&M Admit packet today. $8K a year Scholarship with no stips. I'm happy. OOS applicant and no In-State waiver though.

It's just funny because I'm numbers twins with some people that have gotten in. Cornelius has slightly better stats than me.ThreeRivers wrote:After each batch of acceptances I notice us 4 always in here bitching about being left out again lolCornelius wrote:The lack of a W&M acceptance is really stressing me out.UnamSanctam wrote:+1Cornelius wrote:You're killing me W&M.

To scholarship recipients: how many of you have the requirement to keep at least a B average? It seems like a lot of the OOS students don't have it, but I am an OOS student and I had a "B" stipulation.
I'm wondering if this is because I am fellowship recipient as well.
Also, do you know if W&M has a reputation for section stacking? I believe I read from at least one user that they may do this and the B stipulation troubles me if this is the case.
I wonder how successful I would be in trying to bargain that B stip away.

I have a B stip. it's a really easy stip compared to many schools. The profile has the exact curve but only like 15% of students are below that iirc.skirkland wrote:To scholarship recipients: how many of you have the requirement to keep at least a B average? That's strange. I'm an OOS student and they said I had to maintain a "C" average to keep my $8K scholarship a year.skirkland wrote:To scholarship recipients: how many of you have the requirement to keep at least a B average? I'm OOS and I have it for the "fellowship." I also have scholarship money that doesn't seem to have any stipulations.skirkland wrote:To scholarship recipients: how many of you have the requirement to keep at least a B average? I'm with top30man: a "B" average shouldn't be that difficult to maintain, and if you find yourself in the bottom 15% or so, you should probably consider dropping out.

Meh, just the 1 LSAT point. My GPA is just rounded to the nearest tenth.UnamSanctam wrote: It's just funny because I'm numbers twins with some people that have gotten in. Cornelius has slightly better stats than me.

Accepted yesterday! Unbelievably quick turnaround. Sent 11/6, went complete 11/15, "Congratulations! Admit Packet Mailed" appeared on status checker 11/17. Quite happy.

I re-read my admissions offer and the B Stip appears only to apply to the fellowship requirements. Otherwise I still keep my 6K with no Stips.
How hard do you think it will be to add 8 hours of work/week to a 1L course load? I'm wondering what the work schedule would be like. 2 hour shifts - 4 days, 4 hour shifts 2 days, 1 8 hour shift? Any current William and Mary students out there with wisdom on this?

From my experience scheduling people, the 4 hour shift is probably optimal, but there's no guaranty that logic plays into this at all.

Nope, a lot of schools are waiting on my retake but I emailed a few and told them not to wait. W&L said they will give me a decision before dec. 2, though W&M w/ the decent scholly looks better than W&L at this point. Good luck with your ED to NU, did you already go to Chicago for the interview?emkay625 wrote:

Accepted 11/14, packet came yesterday.
12k a year, no stipulations other than maintaining a C average, I'm pretty pleased
3.8/167, if anyone is curious
Congratulations to everyone!
