Waitlisted just now. Fairly depressed. This is my top choice. Thought a 171 and a 3.76 LSDAS GPA would help me out...

I had to send a statement of intent to register to U.C. Irvine School of Law by their deadline - it's non-binding, free, and doesn't block you from getting admitted to other schools.

However, is there a certain point by which UCLA won't consider me even from the waitlist because of the U.C. Irvine School of Law situation?

If I could ask for any single thing this year, and nothing else, it'd be to be admitted to UCLA School of Law. I want to live and work in the greater LA area for the rest of my life, and UCLA is my dream school.

Bit of a depressing cycle recently (although most of these I applied to just for scholarship negotiation purposes):

I believe the consensus is that you're allowed to stay on waitlists as long as you like. Schools accept off the wait list knowing that those people might have deposited elsewhere (or even found housing). I'd definitely send a LOCI.

If that doesn't pan out, would you consider re-applying next year? Your LSN says you submitted in January, which is rather late. If the rest of your application was fine, I really think your WL is just due to when you applied. Write an LSAT addendum, and you would definitely be a very competitive applicant next year.

I withdrew today, and I really hope that helps you out at least a little bit.

Thanks for the input - it's much appreciated. Sadly, I don't have the option of taking yet another year off - I have no employment options, and my parents would quite literally kill me if I waited it out another year.

I did take the LSAT three times, as mentioned in my LSN profile, so perhaps that's working against me? Along with the late application (was waiting for the third LSAT score).

I'll definitely send in my LOCI. Any thoughts on my chance of being admitted via waitlist?

Forgive me if this has been discussed, as I haven't back-read. Are there any reports of people getting in off the waitlist? I was waitlisted back in January -- I withdrew, but now I'm wondering if I might have had some luck riding out the list...

UCLA seems to have significantly raised their standards over last year...has this already been discussed or mentioned?

What makes you say that? It seems about the same to me. From available data on LSN, it looks like UCLA is aiming for a 168 median, which is what it was for c/o 2014.

Still no c/o 2011 employment data posted by UCLA. A bit worried.
