Just got my letter here in Southern California. 163/3.9 Mexican URM. Submitted RD on 10/18.
First update on 10/28 when I was offered an interview. Interview took place on 11/26, and then I received updates on 11/29, 11/30, and 12/1. The letter was postmarked on 12/3.

Gtown is really fast.
Submitted Nov.17 ish, first update, 11/22, then 12/2, 12/5.
Btw, as to the second "complete", I used the status checker app and when I clicked "history" , the only section that got highlighted in that update is my address. I have not changed my address so I am wondering what it means.
FYI, I am an international applicant and my current address/location is in China. I guess no interview for me?

China?? Better get a local address fast. Otherwise, with our U.S. Postal Service, you'll probably receive your accpetance letter next October.rachelwang712 wrote:Gtown is really fast.

So other than snail mail, is there any other way to find out the decision?

After the initial letter, does GULC send a welcome packet?

After the 11/16 update, I just talked to my interviewer. I'm excited to get my application moving along.

My status updated once after my interview...no movement since 11/28. Applied PT/FT...dinged or is there still some hope?

Dunno. I've been silent since 11/21, which was my 3rd or 4th update, so at least you're not alone. I know some people have been rejected already via email, so maybe its not an entirely bad sign? If you find out what the long wait means, let me know.gatorlaw wrote:My status updated once after my interview...no movement since 11/28. Applied PT/FT...dinged or is there still some hope?

So it seems like I should have Why law? and Why GT? ready for the interview. Probably some questions about GT as well. Is that the gist? Any other helpful advice anyone has to offer?

Definitely why law and why gtown. For the why gtown I talked about being in DC, clinics (I talked about a couple specific clinics they offer that interest me), and curriculum B. Also, my interviewer went point by point over everything on my resume and asked me about it, so be ready to talk about whatever's on your resume.ColtsFan88 wrote:So it seems like I should have Why law? and Why GT? ready for the interview. One other thing is that my interviewer told me that the interview was my chance to distinguish myself and that anything I wanted the admissions committee to know I should tell him, so at the end of the interview I asked him if I could have him pass on to the admissions committee what I thought distinguished me as a candidate. He laughed and said "sure, give me your 2 minute sell!" I just briefly touched on what I thought distinguishes me as an applicant. Basically for me it was that I'm first in my family to graduate college and the first to go to grad school, I worked my way through college without support, and therefore as a law student I will be hard-working and I will always appreciate the opportunity to receive a top-notch legal education. I think doing this made a big difference for me, and in fact my admissions letter had a handwritten note about how my interviewer said great things about me (though maybe it was more of a generic note than a sincere compliment, I don't know). Your interview could work out a little differently or completely differently, and I think it worked a lot better for me because my interviewer and I both went to non-prestigious state UGs and were both the first in our families to go to grad school (I really lucked out there), but I do think you could benefit from considering what distinguishes you and showing that to your interviewer in some way.
Good luck!

I'm confused about this group interview request. Does it mean that I'm basically in a panel with other 8-15 other applicants? That sounds more informational then anything and I have no idea how the Dean would center on each individual.

FINALLY went complete again after the interview. About a week later. For some reason I'm relieved.

I've been trying to get some insight on this as well, but it seems like there's not a lot of information about it in this thread. I'm not really sure what to expect. In the brief things I've found, it appears that the Dean (or whoever the moderator is for your particular interview) gives a discussion topic to the group and observes as they discuss it among themselves.Worker and Parasite wrote:I'm confused about this group interview request. I don't know if each group interview is the same set-up, but the idea is to see how well you play with others. I wasn't asked why law, why GULC or any other typical interview questions. I actually had a really good time in my group interview. From my sample size of one, getting placed in a group interview rather than a one-on-one didn't appear to hurt me, since I did get in. The dean expressed that his goal is to make the application process more personalized and less of a black box.Leighmak wrote:I've been trying to get some insight on this as well, but it seems like there's not a lot of information about it in this thread. I'm getting the feeling much of the group vs individual setup may be geographic. Not many people to group together in rural Texas.crooked wrote:I don't know if each group interview is the same set-up, but the idea is to see how well you play with others.
