Just an FYI, Cornell's snail-mail acceptance package was exactly the same as the material made available in the e-mail. Guess that means no up-front aid. :?

Just updated for the first time to today's date. This waiting game is tough.

I wonder how generous Cornell is with aid. Judging from LSN, they seem to be fairly tight with scholarship money.
yeah, and... tution = $53,150

They have a pretty generous deferal policy supposedly, I don't know much about it though.

Yea but guess what they claim to be fairly generous with need-based aid... what do you guys think grants or just a boatload of non-dischargeable debt?

What a bummer, I was really hoping for some scholly offer in the snail-mail package when it arrived...so if we want any now we have to start the negotiating/leverage game? If so I better hope for some other good offers...

I don't know what might be best, but I do know I'm going to need something...wonder what other people have done in the past for the majority of their tuition?

I posted this on the previous page, but it may have been missed:

Yea, there is and it seemed to look a lot like Duke's merit based aid process. I was just hoping my slightly better than mediocre numbers qualified me for some aid off the bat, so that I could have something to throw around initially as negotiation material in a couple weeks.

EDIT: too many commas my bad haha

Ah, excellent! I missed it. Yes, I looked in the admitted students PDF and you're correct. For some reason I didn't equate "grants" and "scholarship" mentally, oops. It looks like there's no harm in sending in the information ASAP, since it's not committing you to attending, correct? It simply means you can see if you get any financial aid earlier, right?

Though it does look like Cornell is not in the habit of handing out copious aid, but it couldn't hurt to try!

This may have been mentioned earlier, but I was wondering if the status checker changes to "Under Review"? I've been complete for a little over a week now and I'm curious if that means they are reviewing my file yet.

I'm fairly sure that it just stays at complete. I wasn't a habitual status checker though, so I am not sure.

LSN shows someone with a 3.7/166 getting in. Hope this bodes well for me. 166/3.81
