They aren't waiting on anything simply just still in the process of reviewing the applications. My guess is summer time people tend to take vacation days. They could start a review of a file and if someone goes on vacation they cant finish reviewing it until they come back. Although I am anxiously waiting as well, I dont think they are having us wait for any reason other than giving a full second review of our applications.

Does Cornell even have a WL? or is everyone just a reserve?

LOL, so far everyone is just a reserve. Waitlist offers will likely be coming soon, though.

There certainly are people on the WL. TLSers even have mentioned this previously.... it IS extremely unlikely that any WL people will get in. And its getting slimmer for the reserve (present company excluded, of course)... the date to remember now is july 22: the date current spot-holders ABSOLUTELY must commit. FWIW - im going to be committing on wednesday... lease-signing

The 22nd day of JULY??? Thank late?
LOL, do all schools have that as the "letter of intent" deadline or something?

They told you they weren't waiting to release decisions?

This is how they replied to a 6/7 JD Reserve on 6/8:

"Hello XXX, and thank you for your email. Your file has been through the review process, and as soon as your decision is released, we will notify you."

I've stopped guessing their process. Let's just wait in peace. :)

I updated 6/13 and again today. Also just got an acceptance from BU with a 15K scholarship today...my current choice is Notre Dame with 10K. And BU is 5K cheaper to boot. I just don't know what to do. I wish Cornell would give me some kind of decision because I don't want to throw more money at BU for a deposit without knowing about Cornell. Cornell aside, which school do you guys think is a better choice BU or Notre Dame (I asked in those forums, but I wasn't sure if I'd be getting a bias decision there) ?

First off- congrats on your acceptance! In regard to the ND vs. BU question, rankings aside I have always had the feeling that ND is somewhat superior academically. Obviously it depends upon what you're looking to do, what you're looking to study, but it seems as though ND has spent a lot of money on its facilities and professors. I think this shows when you see the high level judicial clerkships (federal and even SCOTUS) and job prospects. I also think that the ND reputation carries huge clout, particularly in the Chicago area. Also- while South Bend leaves a lot to be desired the cost of living is way lower and also you're not competing so closely for positions with other schools (as with BU and Harvard where Harvard students presumably have an edge over BU students). Don't mean to sound know-it-all ish, I'm actually committed at ND now and turned down a BU acceptance early on in the cycle. ( this could also taint my objectvity on the subject though haha). Hope this helps

Where do you want to work? Are you from either area?
