On behalf of everyone at Cornell Law School, I am delighted to inform you that we would like you to join our J.D. Class of 2015. Your background and academic credentials are outstanding. In fact, your application is one of a select few that we are holding for purposes of considering you for one of our prestigious Dean's Scholarships. Up to ten of these scholarships are awarded annually - based on academic merit. They provide $48,000 per year toward tuition and fees for three years. In order to be considered, we are asking eligible applicants to submit a supplemental essay of up to 500 words offering advice to a graduating college student on whether to take time off before attending law school.

Exact same situation/dates.

I have the exact same dates as well... no idea what's going on. Then again, I'm waiting on the release of my Dec. LSAT score (Oct. '11 retake), so I'm not counting on a decision in the immediate future...

Anyone looked back at the prognosis for deffered EA applicants? I tried but am stuck to using a cell phone and found no real clear answer. Seemed most withdrew before receiving a decision so far as I can tell. It also seemed like the waitlist thread was a completely different animal.

Deferred 3.4/169 :( Oh well, at least they didn't outright reject me. I am not sure what I should do if I don't have any updated grades/honors or anyone else who can write me a strong recommendation letter..

I've updated 3 or 4 times with my most recent one being today 12/19. Is anybody else in this situation who hasn't gotten an acceptance email?

so, after stalking last year's thread... it looks like the deferred folks started hearing back end of march/beginning of april timeframe. there were a couple accepts but mostly reserved.. and i stopped there but read someone from the prior year say that the rejects from deferral don't roll around until the summer (july)...

tl;dr: deferred? make other plans.

Well that's not encouraging.. so glad I applied EA so that I would have a decision early on. I'd prefer a rejection so this would be done with, rather than being dicked around until July.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
