Tagging this thread so I can follow your panic. Ask questions about the school in the relevant forum because I won't be checking here.

How important is the Why Cornell essay? It seems mandatory, what did folks put here?

I do not know how important it is - but, I got in (2009-2010 cycle) without submitting one.

What are you guys doing for "influenced to apply"? I have nothing to say there, but it's a required field. Should I just put "N/A"?

edit: to those not writing a "why cornell", what are you putting in that field, since it also requires to have something in it?? I feel like "N/A" in the "why cornell" field might be pretty offensive to the adcomms??

Do not write "N/A".

Write something like this: Because of its outstanding reputation and dedication to excellence.

Something simple and short is fine.

Submitted today.

I wrote a nearly 2 page "Why Cornell." Probably overkill but I really love the school, hoping against hope they part the red sea lol

Good luck!! I'm going to get mine in asap now that I have a shitty-but-acceptable-for-Cornell LSAT score.

Would love Cornell but worried with my 166. Chances with 3.89?

I'm in, but a bit of a reach. Anyone think I'll get in with 3.65/167?

161, 4.11, NA, applied EA... Too much of a longshot?

Not at all. I've seen a few NAs with worse numbers get in with a scholarship.

Checking in here. This is a semi-reach for me (3.56, 168). By the looks of this thread, I should probably start writing a Why Cornell essay.

I don't know how I am going to write three essays in a week. Looks like I might have to sacrifice Halloween.

Are most people just writing the 1000 character essay vs. the unlimited Why Cornell? I'm 4.0/169 & will be applying EA. Is there any conceivable benefit to the longer essay?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
