Yeah, after the stories of the admissions office never leaving voicemails or emails, I’m glad I was by my phone when they called! But seriously, since the cycle started I have carried my phone in my hand everywhere I go and even walked out of classes for phone calls. I won’t stop until I hear from every school!

I would wager to say no, though that is only conjecture. I'm not an authority on the matter, but I would surprised to hear any time before mid-December (11/22 UR here).

Yeah...I have no evidence whatsoever to back me up, but I have a feeling that it'll be 6 weeks or so until the 11/22 batch hears anything.

It's still really early. Berkeley does thing alot differently than most other schools so you can never know! Good luck though.

+1. If I get that call (I doubt I will, but a girl can dream), I'd probably just say "OHMYGOD THANK YOU. This is awesome." and then after I hung up, I would probably squeal like an idiot.

This is the most important part. Do NOT fuck this up. They keep a tally of 10 points, knocking off points for stupid stuff you say. If your score drops to zero then they rescind their acceptance. Some things are more important than others. If you tell them you shop at Hollister, that's like a two point drop. But if you really mess up and accidentally tell them you're a serial killer, that's an automatic -10. If you fuck up and lose all your points on the acceptance phone call, you have a one-time opportunity to appeal by calling the Chancellor's office and telling them you support those dirty cops who slugged undergrads with their batons.

I think I would say something along the lines of "Wow... seriously? That's incredible. What an honor."

But yeah... probably something incredulous at first.
