I think it is impossible for any applicant to Berkeley to be regarded as an auto-admit. They are as notoriously elusive as Y and S, and their broad span in the way of 25%-75% LSAT is a testament to that. LSP uses numbers alone, and a ding should not be used to contrast against the LSP prediction as a measure of the strength of your application. Keep that chin up.username08 wrote:The more I think about it the more I'm confused. I know Law School Predictor tends to be optimistic but how did I go from auto-admit on that website to auto-reject...Fairly certainly my recs are at least average and my PS wasn't terrible either. I just don't get it.

You're right. I didn't think my essay was necessarily "good" either. In fact I'm certain that it was forgettable. I was just unsure if it was so bad that it hurt my application.lats19nys wrote: I'm not picking you out since we really don't know what led to your ding but....
One thing I have to say lol. Why does everyone always think they have a good essay? Just logically it can't be that everyone has an above average essay. Every site whether it's LSN or here or admissiondean or w/e, everyone always puts above average for their personal statement. I just think people should really be more honest with themselves about their work and be realistic and then work to strengthen those weaknesses.

FWIW I was UR around that time last cycle and got in by email around Jan 25th. Not sure what causes them to hold up some apps though... I had numbers around median and 4 years WE.catwomangirl wrote:msblaw89 wrote:I'm oneEMZE wrote:Are there many other 11/22 UR who have heard nothing?

Tell me if I am wrong.. but it seems like for those who are still waiting we all have either strong numbers, work experience, unique softs ( thinking of the Army major)..or a mix of the stated. I for one have an insanely unique circumstance (IMO) that I wrote my PS about. Maybe that is the common thread?

My numbers are meh, but I do have 3-4 years WE (management consulting firm). Maybe it's the WE angle?msblaw89 wrote:I attempted at least hahapdeturk wrote:msblaw89 wrote:Tell me if I am wrong.. but it seems like for those who are still waiting we all have either strong numbers, work experience, unique softs ( thinking of the Army major)..or a mix of the stated. Who is the Army Major? I am a Captain and being outranked and probably outnumbered doesn't bode well.msblaw89 wrote:I attempted at least hahapdeturk wrote:msblaw89 wrote:Tell me if I am wrong.. but it seems like for those who are still waiting we all have either strong numbers, work experience, unique softs ( thinking of the Army major)..or a mix of the stated. Me too. It's going to be sad if I get flat out rejected before break is officially over. I have to basically live in the boalt library next semester to write my honor's thesis.catwomangirl wrote:msblaw89 wrote:I'm oneEMZE wrote:Are there many other 11/22 UR who have heard nothing?

It looks like I am the only one on this board to have applied so late in the process (Jan 6). Reading about rejects for people with numbers much better than mine, saddens me .. a LOT! Depressing stuff indeed.
