Finished the Northwestern financial aid questionnaire. Felt like applying all over again.

I'm in the process of filling it out myself, how many essays are there? just so I can get a sense for whether I should try to do it all today or spread it out over the next two days...

Just the two. One explaining how NU will help you achieve your career goals and a second letting you make the case for merit/need aid.

Anybody know what does/does not belong in talking about merit aid? They already know my GPA and LSAT and neither is stellar.

Seriously that's fantastic.

Over the last 4 years, NU has been #2, #1, #8 and #2. When the #8 is the low outlier, you're doing pretty well, I think.

I think the numbers are a testament to why taking people with work experience is a good idea. You know they can't be all that bad at interviewing/hustling and they have something to talk about of substance.

Also, the Michigan thread has close to 20 pages on us.....now that they have WL me that is completely unacceptable.

The majority of their posts are pictures of the school; I'll take quality over quantity any day. Sure, it is a pretty school, but much can be said for almost any school in the Big10...

Yup, I'll definitely be there.

I've legitimately been waiting/wishing/praying for about 3 years to be able to attend NU's ASW. There's not much that can stand between me and Chicago come April 12thish. !!

So if we are an ED hold that still hasn't heard anything do you guys think we should count ourselves in the same lumped group as the other holds at this point? Or are we in a special crappier group?

If you have work experience (presumably you do, since you got in) that would be worth mentioning.

you're in the same group as us, but if other things made accepting you or another applicant are equal, tie goes to you

I did. I mentioned that Michigan was offering me money. I didn't mention any other acceptances, but if a lower ranked school was offering money and I was in at a better ranked school, I might have mentioned both.
