Re: Stanford c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
Well to give the final affirmative response to Berkeley you have to certify, "I accept admission to Berkeley Law School. I will definitely enroll as a member of the Class of 2015 in August. I will withdraw my application and remove myself from waiting lists at all other law schools immediately. I agree to notify the Admissions Office if my plans change subsequently so as to affect my enrollment in August." Considering they're not requiring us to give ANY deposit and are giving us until June 1st already, I think it would be a super douche move to just lie to them. They could have been like UVA or something and required a $1,000 deposit.ddalton22 wrote:Exact same situation here, under LSAC rules though, I don't think you need to withdraw your application from a school at which you have not heard back when saving a space at another, as someone was mentioning the june 1 deadline, this has definitely been addressed on tls before as well as by the dean of yale law. I think they are just trying to pressure us, not to mention how will they know if we have or have not withdrawn our applications, or are on a wait list ?azgirl514 wrote:Aspen, I am literally in exactly the same situation: in at Berkeley, silence from Stanford, and on hold at Harvard. I am just waiting on Stanford before committing definitively to Berkeley (I totally fell in love during ASW). That being said, Stanford would be a dream come true... at this point, I just want some closure so that I can make my decision and be done with it.Aspen wrote:+1. Realistically, I don't think there's a big chance any of us will be admitted outright at this point. You never know though. That's why I'm waiting to find out a final decision before committing to Berkeley. I paid $100 so I at least deserve to know a final decision! I'm on hold at Harvard too but there's no way I'd go there since I definitely want to stay in California.Bronck wrote:
I don't think so. Everywhere else has given a decision. We spent 100 goddamn dollars in this school. They should have told us by now.

Your application for admission to Stanford Law School is now complete.
I'm waiting for the day a ton of us get DLS'ed. I can almost guarantee that I'm a rejection. Harvard said no and Columbia said reserve. Why are you prolonging the inevitable SLS? Why?

Sucks. They are probably just making decisions between waitlists and rejections now.

It's just the weirdest feeling in the world because I know I should be happy my status doesn't say DLS, but I still when I see "complete." Maybe it's more of a though.

When did the first DLS-WL come out? (Not for the couple people that asked for early decisions - i mean the true first round of DLS-WL's?)

My concept of time in the Law School decision world has really been messed up (since it just seems like one loooooong day) but I think the first one came out last week.txl wrote:When did the first DLS-WL come out? I've been on TLS but always lurking in the Stanford thread. DLS within the last couple of hours. Went complete early November. International student.
That finally ends my cycle! Good luck to everyone still waiting!

Hey guys, long time lurker here. Just got a DLS in the last hour or so. I called, and it's a waitlist. I've been complete since early October and hadn't heard anything since.
Other info I know you'll probably want: non-URM, sent a LOCI in late February
gahh I don't know if I can stand more waiting. I guess now there's just more pressure to do well on finals and maybe retake the LSAT in June

WL/DLS just now. I'm waiting this thing out to the bitter end, also retaking in June. Went complete in December, LOCI in march or early April can't remember.

Below what score is it worth retaking the LSAT if you're waitlisted? How are people thinking about whether to do this?

Also, does anyone know 1. how big the waitlist is and 2. what % of people get accepted from it? Thanks!

Re: Stanford c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
I have absolutely no evidence, but it seems plausible that it might possibly be beneficial if you're below the 75th percentile. But, even then, the value would be somewhat questionable unless you were below the 25th percentile. In that case, I'd be willing to bet that a bump from <25th to in between median and 75th would be a significant boon. However, just to reiterate, this is a blind-ass guess...info from anyone with an inside perspective would be fantastic.anon12 wrote:Below what score is it worth retaking the LSAT if you're waitlisted? On another note:
And believe me I am still alive.
I'm doing science and I'm still alive.
I feel fantastic and I'm still alive.
While you're dying I'll be still alive.
And when you're dead I will be still alive.
SILL ALIVE
Still alive....
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
