Submitted!
(Recognizing that I have a 0% chance of acceptance took so much pressure off, haha)

On the subject of the nefarious 250, I took sort of a weird route, I think. It's just a personal anecdote, and it reads more like a story than an essay. I don't know that this was a good idea, but I wrote it in May 2010, and have not written a 250 I liked better since then. (There's nothing wrong with starting 1.5 years in advance, right? :| ) If anyone actually wants to read it, I'd be happy to share via PM, but like I said- 0% chance.

If you're convinced you have a 0% of acceptance, why did you even apply?

Well, I don't feel like posting mine publicly until after a decision, and maybe even not then since it's kinda personal, I think a lot of people feel the same way.

I felt my PS was about my academic background/desire to go into law, so I used my 250 to show some more aspects of my background and demonstrate writing skill. As a suggestion, one thing that I did was write several 250s - it's not a lot of writing, so I tried out a few different topics and one stuck, for better or worse.
i would think that by definition the ps is more personal. the 250 is more like an op-ed piece

What's funny is that after all the excitement....they haven't even requested the apps yet from LSAC.

For some reason I had this impression they were as anxious as we were about the delay. Maybe its totally different when its your job, but I have this picture of the adcom offices being like Christmas the day the new year's apps starts rolling in. Like they bust out champagne, revel in a good early app, laugh, burst into spontaneous song and dance.....maybe I should lay off the Glee.

lol, I'm sure they're just delaying gratification to make it that much better.

Because I want to go? Also, my complete lack of confidence is probably unfounded, but it keeps me from worrying so much. We all have our own ways to deal with stress, I suppose mine is to expect the very worst.

Plus I think we all share a healthy sense of self-doubt when it comes to Yale - I know I'm not really expecting an acceptance, but I'm not an auto-reject so why not?

Does the alligator and the fox mean anything on Yale's shield? An old English Aristocratic coat of arms or something?

Thatkid, if your profile is accurate than your being dramatic. A 4.0 173 is plenty to fall into the black box and come out the right side...

Just saying.

Ah, no wonder.... LSAC now lists my application as complete. Hopefully we'll start receiving 'application received' emails soon

Submitted....eek!!!!

Did anyone else notice that there was no section to list URM status? i am a non-URM but just found it odd. Do they just get that info directly from LSAC?

One can always hope that Yale has decided to lead the charge to considering socio-economic status instead of racial status? Why else ask about LSAT prep and such?

I also noticed there was no section for Gender. I'm guessing they still have a few glitches there?

i thought the lsat prep question was to judge your score more than anything else

It didn't have the standard demo question? I thought it did....

AS for the Stewie thing, my son has asked several times if we can go see "that movie" because he's never seen it before. He's not getting the idea of an adult cartoon. He said, "Babies aren't mean EVER mom. I'm sure it would be ok for me." Thanks avatar Stewies.
