Also, if LSAT is a little underwhelming I'm considering an ED. What's the general opinion on the summer start stipulation that comes with EDing? Seems like a nice way to ease in, but not sure.

I'll be writing the Why Michigan essay.

So, um, why Michigan?

Doing the "Why M?" as well. Also really hoping that the LSAT medians stays the same or goes down w/ the decrease in test-takers...

Yea, I would not mind summer start at all. Most people can't due to previous obligations (still in school, traveling, etc.), but no one's ever been against it just on principal IIRC. Dean Z has been having facetime with loads of them too, which I would sign up for in a flash.

I think I'll actually write that, as a throwaway line.

"And though I am a Penn State student, and die-hard fan, I have in me the requisite amount of hatred of all things Buckeye to fit right in with the rest of the UM student body."

I could do this, though AA is TTT compared to drinking more toward my/Eich's city of residence.

Not sure which town is yours. Are you talking bars or people drinking. There are some solid bars in AA that I'll fight for. Also: too bad app season doesn't really go in the summer. Dominick's on a sunny Saturday is great times.

Can I talk about the fact that I became a UM fan when I was 10 b/c my grandparents both went to OSU and I decided to hate them on principle?

This is kind of the top of my reach schools and I think I'd need around a 171 to be competitive with my weak 3.5 LSDAS GPA. 171.5 is my current PT average, so I'm hoping to gain 3-4 points and a little breathing room headed into October.

It's kind of a funny thing going to UofM when I went to undergrad at MSU. I can see getting shit for it.

Get yourself on the 3.5/174 team, it's a good group we got.

What a TTT school. At least when Central-Western weekend came I could drink and make up with the Broncos (hell, my SO goes to Western). I know UofM has a reputation for being elitist bastards, but I've never despised a student base as much as I have the Spartans.

Then again, I was raised a Michigan fan.

Central is...near the casino? I guess that's cool.

Honestly, I couldn't care less about school rivalries. I just hate having to deal with people who do care and make a point of making a point of it.

Were you originally from MI?

SE MI yeah. Central's not cool at all, though. I was just saying I've never met bigger assholes than my experience State people. TBF, some of my best friends went there, too.

That's totally...valid actually. Definitely some out and out precious gems from East Lansing.

I also have a diversity statement, but don't think it really fits into any of the questions they ask since they are all really specific... anyone know about submitting a diversity statement? The only questions that seem related are..

Essay Five
Describe an experience that speaks to the problems and possibilities of diversity in an educational or work setting.

Essay Seven
How might your perspectives and experiences enrich the quality and breadth of the intellectual life of our community or enhance the legal profession?

But the statement I have doesn't neatly seem to fit into either.. I may have tweak mine or being lazy, omit it..

I think Essay Seven is the typical DS prompt.
