Submitted an RD app, but not holding out much hope because of my stats. Oh well, only $16 for a chance.

Re: UVA c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
I'm curious about this too (mainly because I'm the type to worry I'm getting a 2.3 gpa for the semester until I see otherwise). Do any schools rescind admission if you are like a 4.0 student when you submit and get a 3.4 or something during first semester senior year?runplaystudy wrote:
EDIT: does anyone know if I now have a required minimum GPA for the rest of undergrad?

So I know it's 15 days but anyone have any insight as to how many days they're really going this time of year? (ED)
also I've a 164/3.89 I was told my chances were pretty good. Anyone else know how this might play out?

Chances seem pretty good, they have admitted people with lower numbers this cycle and last.JoeMo wrote:So I know it's 15 days but anyone have any insight as to how many days they're really going this time of year? (ED)

Has anyone who were invited to email/ask questions to current virginia students in that "enjoy the fall email" seen an acceptance yet? Wondering if there is any correlation at all, like a type of psuedo-interview maybe? Thoughts on this?

No problem. Anyways, not to take over the thread, but has anyone that received a "have a nice fall" email get any good news? Trying to figure out if there is any correlation, or if everyone got it and it means nothing? Gimme some thoughts....

Loads of people got the email on this thread. The only person to get in since was the person that got in yesterday. The rest that got in did so just prior to the emails or around the same time as the emails went out, and to my knowledge did not receive the email.
You could PM the person who got in yesterday to ask them if they got it or not.

The 15 days is a time limit on their end, but how long they take for each app isn't necessarily based on time of year or application volume. I went complete with an ED app the first week applications opened, and was accepted eleven days later (seven business days, and less than a week after a phone call regarding an aspect of my app). Others applied later and heard within two or three days, and some have waited longer. Timing will likely be affected somewhat by volume for obvious reasons, but the length of time it takes to make a decision will also depend on the strength of your numbers and the rest of your app.JoeMo wrote:So I know it's 15 days but anyone have any insight as to how many days they're really going this time of year? Thanks... I'll see what happens within a couple of weeks then. I'm just excited and want to get this cycle over and done with.Seneca wrote:The 15 days is a time limit on their end, but how long they take for each app isn't necessarily based on time of year or application volume. Same here with a 171/3.53. Think I have a possibility, but not a great one. Worth $16 though.Cornelius wrote:Submitted an RD app, but not holding out much hope because of my stats. Oh well, only $16 for a chance.

Absolutely. Your GPA is great, and I agree with previous posters that your chances are looking good, so hopefully you'll be hearing good news soon. Good luck!JoeMo wrote: Thanks... I'll see what happens within a couple of weeks then. I'm just excited and want to get this cycle over and done with.
