With these quick turnarounds, I'm kicking myself for putting Virginia at the bottom of my "list of Why statements to write." Damn it, I gotta finish that and get it out soon.

Does anyone know when their status was changed to "congratulations"? Meaning what time of the day? Do you think that it was as they made the decision or at the end of the day they updated them all?

My status changed to 'congratulations' around 2PM, however someone else said they found out after 5PM....I know it's not great on the nerves (or productivity) but my guess is the status change is rolling throughout the day.

Admitted last night by way of status checker 'congratulations'. FWIW ED app complete on the 5th, and had a 'soft' phone interview with AD Richard the same day. See you all in Charlottesville next fall!

'Congratulations' will appear along the right side of the page under 'status'. If you've submitted your app it will show up where it currently says something along the lines of complete pending review.

Great job guys! Those who ED'd are in my boat. Hope you enjoy twiddling your thumbs or have the mental fortitude to stay off of TLS.

Do you mean my list of schools to apply to? I assume so...

I'm not sure to be honest. My status checker originally said that a decision letter and scholarship letter were sent on 9/8. I'm pretty sure this was the case, but then it updated to the scholarship letter being 9/9. I'm thinking maybe they haven't finalized that just yet and that was the delay of a week she was referring to? IDK. Until I see what that entails, I can't really adjust my list too much. If its really generous, I'll probably knock Duke and Colorado from the list, along with any other safeties that were hanging about. I'll have to really soul-search on Michigan because its pretty comparable and requires a big move/worse job prospects for my husband and I'd have to really think whether even the best case $$$ could compete with UVA's offer (depending on what it is, do they have something like a Darrow?).

I already applied to UChi on the same day as UVA so I'll def let that play out, because there would be no need to pull applications this early. I'm not sold on moving to Chicago though so not sure how a decision would play out even with good news. I may pull my Cali schools, namely Berkeley at sticker would not be in the running with a great UVA offer in my book (does Stanford even give money?) and more soul-searching on Stanford (again money?). Harvard and Yale will remain, because I'd hugel regret not appling and at least knowing. Really, no matter what I'll probably be very conservative on knocking any apps off the list for the sole reason of just wanting to be able to have all the information on my options and not wanting to play "what ifs" down the road.

You all are very kind to me. I am hoping you are right! Why can't you all be the lurking adcoms at the schools of my dreams lol? Please?!

I'm going to be hopeful and optimistic because that's in my nature, but I never expect anything. I hate disappointment but I love to be pleasantly surprised. Certainly, UVA has far exceeded my expectations and its been a great week!

For all the admits, there wil be a little delay in getting the letters so don't worry if its late this week. The congratulations does in fact mean you are in without a doubt. It sounds like they are mainly working on ED right now too, so don't worry RDers..

Quick update, the congratulations on the status checker pre admit phone call (as was custom in years past) was a computer error. That status checker change is not supposed to occur until after you receive an admit phone call. I wouldn't worry if you went ED and haven't received any status checker update yet. They've fixed the glitch, and their policy is still to call first, then change the status and send the admission letter.

So should there still be a status there that says under review or no status at all?

I have the same question: I do not have a status at all on my application status page.

I think they are editing the computer system right now, my status has disappeared as well. Prior to everything disappearing, when I went complete my status said something like application complete/pending review. I think that is what is supposed to be there before changing to congratulations. If by chance you do see the congratulations, like mumofcad said you're 100% in, but I was told they want to call and tell you over the phone before that change shows up.
