Emailed admissions with an addendum with new info and they responded that a decision had been mailed to my address... Kiss of death? I think so :(

Are they still mailing VCE's? CLS emailed me about being reserved. Might be an acceptance envelope.

I think CLS mails dings in white envelopes. Could be wrong though. Reserves are email only

I feel like they reserved me just because it was less trouble than writing a rejection letter.

Do people ever get rejected off the Reserved group? Or do you have to slowly connect the dots when you notice your classroom is nowhere near Harlem?

Haha. No kidding. Especially since you're already (I think?) planning for NYC anyway.

I thought the reserve info sheet says that the school, after reviewing the reserve apps, rejects some, admits some, and leaves the remaining on reserve, no?

Yes. The letter said they will start evaluating the candidates in the Reserve group at the end of May...

After a few minutes of staring at the prompt on my screen I officially withdrew. Unfortunately there wasn't a box to suggest that whiteguy take my spot, but I'm sure they'll know what to do.

I actually started to compile a my own list of CCN acceptances/money compared to people and their numbers last night. Kinda trying to figure out why I got so much more $$ at Chicago than the other two. I gave up before I had anything other than anecdotal ideas, but it really seems like there are a boatload of Columbia acceptances that can't/won't/shouldn't be paying sticker there.

Chicago just gave out WAAAY more money than the other two this year in my opinion, so I wouldn't be surprised at all if Columbia has to dip into the reserve more than usual. It also seems like Harvard is behind in the cycle and ready to take a few more away from Columbia, so who knows.

Rubenstein $$$$$ making Chi really generous this cycle and last it seems (especially with negotiations). Columbia is just stingy with most people because they know they will pay sticker for NYC+preftige and they use their scholarship money to try and steal HYS people with Hamiltons.
