Same here. I set up temporary address forwarding for winter break though. That might have been just a bit too complicated for the USPS.soj wrote:Just to give you an idea, I still have nothing from NYU. No acceptance letter, no box. And I got in in early December.

If this is the wrong place to post, I apologise! I'll perform penitential sacrifices to the TLS gods.
So two months ago I applied to Yale, Harvard, and any in the top 14 that sent me a fee waiver. That wasn't Chicago or Columbia, so I just told 'em the didn't know what they were missing and moved on. But today, strangely, I got a fee waiver from Columbia. I don't spend much time on TLS and I don't know more than an average amount about the process, but isn't this pretty late? It feels late. But I might apply anyway, even though they might just be toying with me.
Is it too late to be trying to apply to a top six school? For what it's worth, my numbers are quite good (above 3.95/above 175), non-URM and very little work experience but one good (I hope) soft in the form of an Oxbridge graduate degree. Thoughts, ye who know more about Columbia's admissions procedure than I do?

Columbia hasn't even started sending out decisions for RD applicants. Looking at LSN in recent years there were people who applied everywhere at the end of January with very strong numbers and only made it into Columbia.hcsmith18 wrote:If this is the wrong place to post, I apologise! It's free and they haven't released any RD decisions yet anyway. Why not! Good luck and congrats, those are awesome numbers!

Do they also give phone calls or is the only way to find out via snail mail? I may have to change my address...

Did anyone here get a RD grade request? If so, did you get any kind of confirmation that they'd received your official grades? If not, did you call and check or anything or just hope for the best?

Look in last year's applicants thread - there should still be pics of VCEs in there.JustE wrote:Yeah, I got that much... Just wondering if it was more of a green, red, or brownish thing...

I did receive a request and sent the transcript in over a week ago... no confirmation that they received it. I tried calling them and the person answering said they can't provide any information over the phone, and if you have questions you need to email them.snehpets wrote:Did anyone here get a RD grade request? Hard to tell from this picture, but that's what the envelopes look like.

!! This picture just made me way more anxious! I think RD people started hearing back last year around the 22nd.. do we think it's going to be about the same this year?

I'm in the same situation. At least in NYU's case there are other ways of finding out.soj wrote:Just to give you an idea, I still have nothing from NYU. No acceptance letter, no box. And I got in in early December.

In previous years, all of the VCEs have been acceptances. Holds came via email and dings/reserves much later.hypothalamus wrote:Doesn't the VCE carry all kinds of decisions?JamMasterJ wrote:I want this envelope so badly right now!!!!!~nametaken wrote:yankees42789 wrote:

Happy to help, I just browsed through 5k posts worth of lolcats and freak outs in last year's thread so I think that's right. Seemed like TLS last year was way more anxious about Columbia whereas it seems like the Chicago schools and Mich got more love this year.JustE wrote:Good to know, this is.Nelson wrote:In previous years, all of the VCEs have been acceptances.
