Do they just ask if you're interested during the calls or do they actually ask about your resume/personal statement etc?

Also 3 reserve. Do we know anyone who has been accepted from the 2nd reserve list or did all prior reserve acceptances happen before 2 reserve invitation?

I know it's a crap thing to talk about when everyone is waiting to hear, but honestly I don't know if I can say yes! If it weren't for the money I'd be thrilled. If it was $100k in debt I wouldn't hesitate. But over $200k? It just seems totally insane.
Columbia is objectively worth sticker, and unless you get about a half ride at a lower T10, or in at another T6, it's basically better than any other option.

If you're biglaw, Columbia is TCR. If you're not, it's a bit more murky.

Oh, my bad. Hopefully you'll soon realize that CLS is awesome and NYU is not. Just sayin'

i'm at sticker so i think i'll have to do something that makes a lot of money for a while to pay off those loans. i filed a financial aid appeal with nyu, but i had $ offers from other schools in the t-10 and nyu wouldn't bite. they're both such good schools. nyu is in a better location, though. still waiting on grant information from columbia, but if i'm at sticker at both, which is the better investment? i guess these are good problems to have, haha

always nice to see EDers get in this late in the game.

I know what you mean, but I think it's a terrible problem to have! Great schools, but they're being exploitative to offer admission with no consideration of financial need. They just want to fill their class and their coffers with full-price students... and at over $300k (for tuition, COL and interest on the loans) you'll have to work 3-4+ years at big law, if you can get it, to pay the money off. Only being so critical because I'm in the same position viz. Columbia.

Have you received your aid package from Columbia? If not see if they'll wait at all until you've received aid info. Or, try to push Columbia to give you that info ASAP. All other things equal, I'd say Columbia (I'm obviously biased) but I think there is something to be said about following the money.

Yea, it really depends on how much that scholarship is for at NYU. That's a really quick turnaround though. Do everything that you can to either get NYU to extend it or to get Columbia to send you their offer.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
