I submitted early Nov and I just went complete today (after going UR 11/16). I think they are now just starting to review our applications, and if we are getting KB1s, we won't get them until after thanksgiving. That's my hunch.Elendil wrote:Hey everyone -- Lurking for months but finally decided to make an account to avoid obsessively refreshing my status checkers!
Anyone who applied on or after 11/9 go under review yet?

Ahh so it looks like I might still have a couple of days to go... they didn't receive my CAS report until a few days later so I think we're in the same boat. Any idea if they process applications from the submit date or date that they receive your report? And if they receive an update to the CAS report does your app automatically get bumped to the bottom of the pile?iThwl wrote:Elendil wrote:Hey everyone -- Lurking for months but finally decided to make an account to avoid obsessively refreshing my status checkers!

Applied on 11/14 still "application received"

To those announcing any news, please be sure to let everyone know when you applied/went UR.
I think it's still way too early. I'm UR 11/2, complete 11/10 and I say wait until next week AT LEAST before you even have an ounce of panicking.amc987 wrote:If one is passed over for the first round of KB1s for applicants of their submission date, does that necessarily mean that Harvard will be sending them bad news? I only ask because I have been UR since 11/2 (complete email 11/10) and I know that in the last few days the first round of KB1s has come out for people who have been complete since I have. I am not panicking because I wasn't expecting anything from Harvard anyway, the interview emails go in waves so it's not clear I have been passed over yet, and there are lots of applicants on here with higher numbers who haven't received interviews. Still, I was wondering at what point it probably makes sense to abandon hope. If I haven't heard anything by Christmas or by mid Jan or by Feb... I know that some people miraculously get in 6 months after their completion date, but LSN doesn't look very promising.
Can anyone with some experience shed some light on the matter? It seems like to a certain extent, Harvard knows what it wants, and if it isn't intrigued enough to interview you by a certain date, then you might be SOL. LSN suggests that this could be true even if you think you're in some kind of limbo... it could just be that you aren't going to receive good news and Harvard just hasn't notified you yet. I don't mean to rain on anyone's parade, but I thought it was worth asking.
I thought it was fairly common for people (especially with borderline numbers) to be held by Harvard and considered for **1s in the spring?amc987 wrote:If one is passed over for the first round of KB1s for applicants of their submission date, does that necessarily mean that Harvard will be sending them bad news? I asked when we should expect to receive a decision. She said it's being done on a rolling basis and doesn't want to make guarantees, but most people hear about two months after they receive the email saying that their application is complete.lsh531 wrote:Had my KB1 this morning, lasted around 7 minutes.
For people with KB1's after the first round, should we be expecting a decision in march/April? Or sooner? I guess its just a waiting game now
Yeah, that's what the "App Completed" email said too. I think if you submitted early Nov (which is the next batch of applications to get reviewed, it seems), you should expect a KB1/2 right before christmas (if you're getting in the first place).splbagel wrote:I asked when we should expect to receive a decision. I'm not sure if that makes it more or less likely that I will get a call - since I'm now the only person posting here with a KB1 but no KB2.
yeah mine was quite short as well. I think they must have been a bit rushed on wednesday because she didn't ask me all the standard questions. feels nerve-wracking, i know...bok92 wrote:anyone else have a short KB1 under 4 minutes?
Ditto. Mine couldn't have been more than 4-5 minutes.ladybug89 wrote:yeah mine was quite short as well.
