I went complete in mid November. Then UR 12/2 with no update since. Until the email that is.

hm..wonder if they're sending out any additional rejections today. i've been UR since 11/11. less than stellar lsat but a 4.0 gpa. i'm guessing it's going to be an auto-reject for me anyway unfortunately.

My stats are only slightly higher than yours and I was admitted, so I would say you definitely stand a chance.

You were above at least one median. Though, with this cycle, I wouldn't be shocked to see the GPA median drop below 3.8... I'd guess WL with a possible late acceptance for the Bro.

Last year was the first year of the status checker. So yeah, it's not surprising things could be changing a little this year as well.

I applied on Halloween and have a last UR date of 12/1. Can I assume that's a ding?

Obviously it's hard for anyone to say definitively, but I feel bad that no one is answering. Looking at LSN, there seem to be a few people who apply early and then randomly don't get in till later in the spring. However, it is rare, and if I personally were wanting to plan my life, I would probably assume a waitlist at this point and get excited about my number one accepted school, because worst case scenario you get unexpected good news in April, or you're waitlisted in March but are already excited about your new school so you don't care.

Summary: no news at this point isn't usually good news, but this is also kind of a weird cycle, so it's hard to say for sure. Good luck to both of you though!

UR 11/18 here and while based on previous cycles I know that an acceptance at this point is EXTREMELY unlikely, it's not completely impossible either. For example, last year there were a few people who submitted in early November and eventually got accepted in February, March and even April.

It's hard to say, because you go straight from being processed to being under review. People with amazing numbers generally go UR faster, so if your numbers are more median and below it might take you longer. However, I think a significant number around your submit date have gone UR and heard back (if accepted), so it probably wouldn't be a horrible idea to just make sure they have everything. Worst case scenario you get the peace of mind. Good luck!

Thanks! So I ended up calling yesterday and the the admissions officer said that everything is OK with my materials, the order in which we go under review doesn't officially depend on when we submit and is not an indication of the final decision etc etc. I DID however to straight to UR today! My numbers are right around NYU's medians, so it could go either way...
