Wish I knew what's taking WUSTL so long to throw me an acceptance.

Anyone know any top 30 schools that may be reverse splitter friendly for a 3.9, 155, and good resume? Thanks so much.

155 is probably too low for T30, but I would say that IU-B would be your best shot. UC-Davis is also a possibility. But what you really should do is retake.matt690 wrote:Anyone know any top 30 schools that may be reverse splitter friendly for a 3.9, 155, and good resume? Thanks so much.

Re: Splitters unite! 2011-2012 Cycle
Berkeley is definitely reverse-splitter friendly, but 155 is way too low for them, generally speaking. They have been known to take people with really low numbers, but you need to get up to at least 162 to have a decent shot. Berkeley is super unpredictable though, so you never know!matt690 wrote:Any chance at UC Berkley? Someone said they are reverse splitter friendly sometimes....

Agreed with this. Their admissions are a bit of a black box, but usually not quite that unpredictable: http://berkeley.lawschoolnumbers.com/stats/1011/Samara wrote:Berkeley is definitely reverse-splitter friendly, but 155 is way too low for them, generally speaking. Any chance you'd retake?

Another splitter here saying hi in the thread. I'm at a 3.4, 170 with deliciously think tanky and policy softs and a current job that I know law schools love. Been lucky so far (no outright dings) but with the schools I'm waiting to hear back from (see profile), it's only a matter of time really.

I applied to Iowa, because I had a fee waiver and to maybe use as scholly leverage with other schools. I got WLed with a 3.0/170. So, good luck with them. I'm not convinced they're terribly splitter friendly. I'm already in at better schools for me, so no sweat, but it was weird IMO to get WLed by Iowa.

And I got admitted with a 2.6/179 (incl. GPA addendum). Tailored PS. I've heard they're not splitter-friendly, but they admitted me and I have one serious split. Not sure if my situation or city's is more applicable to you- just adding a data point.citykitty wrote:hoos89 wrote:Just realized that my e-mail filed an Iowa fee waiver last month as spam...thanks g-mail. Re: Splitters unite! 2011-2012 Cycle
Yeah, I have them as unfriendly towards splitters. As the above poster demonstrates, splitters can still get in, but probably need some tailored materials to do so. As a state school, they're going to want to see some reason why you want Iowa.citykitty wrote:hoos89 wrote:Just realized that my e-mail filed an Iowa fee waiver last month as spam...thanks g-mail. How much have you guys spent, total, on your apps this cycle? I feel like us splitters end up applying to even more schools than most TLS'ers

Re: Splitters unite! 2011-2012 Cycle
Update. 2 rejections and 1 acceptance- every rejection stings but probably a great ratio considering I applied to 9 t14's.
In - LSU, OU, UVA
Held for further review - Georgetown
Rejected - Berkeley, Northwestern (I guess those are pretty predictable with a low GPA and no work experience)
Pending - Penn, Cornell, Harvard, Columbia, UCLA, Indiana-Bloomington, and Wash U St. Louis
pretty happy with UVA. Strong chance I'll go there
