...whether it's better to compete against the best and the brightest at the most prestigious school in the country...
Egregious anti-Yale trolling.

In 1999, the network began a contest for the best essay about the life of Ashe. The winner was 12-year-old Blake Strode from St. Louis, who this year graduated from the University of Arkansas with a 3.972 grade-point average. Strode has delayed his entrance to law school at Harvard to try the tennis circuit for a year.

It's funny because I'm an avid tennis watcher/follower, and have never heard of him. Turning pro after graduating college is a risky move...sure it worked for Isner, but a lot of the up and comers are a lot younger. I didn't really read the article (skimmed it), but if he doesn't have a ranking and needs to work his way up, he has a LONG road ahead of him. Then again, he could be like Ancic and pursue a law degree if/when tennis doesn't work out for him.

right now he's ranked 600. you need to be around the top 100 to gross over 250,000 dollars a year in prize money.

http://stevegtennis.com/rankings/2011/s050911.htm

however he was accepted at four law schools -- Harvard in Cambridge, Massachusetts; Georgetown University in Washington; Columbia University in New York, and New York University.

He's withdrawing from HCN and G duh...the chain reaction that starts with him withdrawing will help all of us. Thank you Blake Strode- if I get into G, you will forever be my favorite tennis player.

Ahhh, see I have faith in taxguy. I believe that his need to share pointless information with people who don't care is so strong that he will resurface. And I will hold a taxguy vigil until that day.
