Reapplying? Post results here

Post by InformationOverlord » Wed Apr 13, 2011 5:41 pm

Haven't seen a thread where those who are reapplying this cycle because they didn't like their results last time. So here it is.

Please post
- which schools you applied to last time, with rough submission dates and results
- what you did to change your application (new lsat? new LOR's? new PS?)
- which schools you've applied to so far this time, with rough submission dates and results

Could be a really useful resource for those of us who are ready to /selves because we don't like how things are going so far. Thank you.

Last cycle I got waitlisted to Cornell, Columbia, and U of Minnesota.
I reapplied this cycle and got waitlisted to Cornell and straigh rejected from U of Minnesota. Nothing from Columbia.

I figured I was a long shot anyways, but the WLs surprised me so I figured I'd give it another go while I work for the DA's office for the year.

Both cycles I got into ASU and ASU bound I am. Can't complain! Both cycles I submitted late October, early November and completed within a few weeks. I'm URM 3.7 GPA, 150ish, and strong softs.

150ish LSAT ? Does that mean 148 or 149 ? Either way you did very well for yourself with such a low LSAT score. Congratulations !

Last cycle:
Fordham (r)
GWU (wl, r)
BU (wl, r)
BC (wl, r)
other unimportant schools

All applied to after January, except GWU, which I applied for in mid-Nov.

This cycle:
Fordham (a)
GWU (a)
BU (wl, ?)
BC (wl, ?)
other unimportant schools.

All applied early to mid-Nov.
LSAT 1 pt higher and had an extra internship.

HTH.

I didn't take the LSAT seriously enough because I figured I wasn't competing against everyone, just other URMs, and because I was working two jobs, and I was on the competitive debate team at my university. I don't remember what I got on it, but it was somewhere in the 149-153 ball park. I also took it last minute. I had an enriching experience working two jobs and debating and going to class - I don't regret not studying for the LSAT.
