Re: HELD AT GULC (GEORGETOWN) 2011
same deal, held after interview, promised decision by 2/28 (which will probably just be a waitlist or another hold...just ding me already)
i'm a pretty marginal candidate: 170 lsat, <25 gpa. 0 expectation of acceptance, applied with fee waiver.

Does anyone know the stats/percentages from previous cycles of how the held applications worked out?

Re: HELD AT GULC (GEORGETOWN) 2011
Not much movement on this thread, so I just read through last year's held at gulc thread, and it looks like all held applicants were eventually either waitlisted or rejected. no one reported being admitted from the held list, though that doesn't mean that none were, of course. also no idea how many people who were waitlisted were eventually taken off the waitlist.
the thread from last year is here: http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 7&t=103382

Eh, I feel like for all intents and purposes it's the same thing. They're putting off making a decision on you until they see the rest of the applicant pool.meepmeep123 wrote:is held different that deferred from ED?

Hey guys! Congrats on G-Town.
My status checker changed from Complete 1/28 to Complete 2/08... in your experience, is this fast status update indicative of anything??
Thanks.

Re: HELD AT GULC (GEORGETOWN) 2011
I think jrose is confused
I was deferred on 12/23 (they really couldn't have waited until after Christmas?). I sent in a LOCI and am just waiting for 2/28 to come around. I was accepted to UVA and Northwestern, but I'm really holding out for GTown. Or I was until I read that stat about everyone either getting waitlisted or denied

Re: HELD AT GULC (GEORGETOWN) 2011
If I were in your position I would call admissions and ask how many they accepted off the held list in February last year. Either way you will feel better knowing now if they accepted anyone (or just waitlisted and dinged) than torturing yourselves for another 2 weeks.laurencita7 wrote:Not much movement on this thread, so I just read through last year's held at gulc thread, and it looks like all held applicants were eventually either waitlisted or rejected. no one reported being admitted from the held list, though that doesn't mean that none were, of course. also no idea how many people who were waitlisted were eventually taken off the waitlist.

Re: HELD AT GULC (GEORGETOWN) 2011
I looked through last year's thread and looked at people's profiles. While everyone posting seemed to get waitlisted or rejected, a lot of them ended up going to Georgetown in the end, which I find encouragingEmma1 wrote:If I were in your position I would call admissions and ask how many they accepted off the held list in February last year. Re: HELD AT GULC (GEORGETOWN) 2011
Goodness.. so G-Town has a "Held" status, too??
I got waitlisted on Friday... they put me on the "preferred waitlist" and beyond that...
"The Committee has designated you as part of a small select group within the Preferred Waiting List that will be given priority as spaces open up in the entering class."
Last year, people speculated that it was the same thing as a hold, so maybe I belong in this thread.
