status updates
Any idea how often the Admissions folks update the status? My status has been the same since December, but my date has changed three times now. What does that mean?

Entirely depends on which school you're applying to.
As a general rule, people read too much into status checker updates.

The status checkers can say so many different things. Sometimes I wonder if they just make up stuff to mess with people.

To the OP: Please review the last 5 pages of this thread for an in depth look at the insanity brought about by status checkers.Neidermeyer519 wrote:+1WhatSarahSaid wrote:Entirely depends on which school you're applying to.

So, I should not be nervous that the dates on my status checkers haven't changed since around 1/8?

Definitely not. People who applied in September and October had to wait MONTHS in some cases.ljohns wrote:So, I should not be nervous that the dates on my status checkers haven't changed since around 1/8?

Yeah, but for many schools, the info posted to the status checker can be decoded and used to find out your decision. For example, BC and W&M update the page in such a way that, using past information, you can determine whether you're WL/In/OutWhatSarahSaid wrote:Entirely depends on which school you're applying to.

Edit: Also, I think that habitual status checking is very unhealthy. Unfortunately, I succumb to the desire too often
