This is the rare situation where I'd advise someone who is absolutely sold on going to law school to go to Hofstra with what will probably be a pretty large scholarship. Brooklyn is not worth sticker.
Also, retake.
but to answer your question, if you really want to pay sticker at Brooklyn, write a letter of continued interest explaining why the school is your top choice.

I just really want BLS. I think I might speak to a director of one of their clinics. I hope I can sneak in.

I also kind of got my hopes up for Cardozo's part time program. Their entering class profile for part time is around my range and I think my X factors will help.

SJU's numbers are a bit better from what I remember. Not sure they would throw significant cash at anyone under 160.

Retake if they want SJU with $$. They bite on low GPAs (hell, mine is pure shit and they liked me), so a 3.17 should be fine. If they can retake and get themselves up to a 165 or so they will be in business. They are loose with the cash so they might actually have a chance a a huge scholarship. I would NOT pay sticker for STJ unless the only school they could get was a T4, which I dont see happening.Ludacrispat26 wrote:why not STJ?Aqualibrium wrote:Ineedhelpplease wrote:I got waitlisted from BLS part time today. Re: Waitlisted Brooklyn Law School 2011
EEK! I'm glad I found this thread...I also applied for part-time, early decision at Brooklyn and my online status checker simply says "Wait List." I applied for the full time program last year with a lower LSAT score (159, 2nd was a 157) and was waitlisted. I brought my LSAT up to a 162 this October and applied with a 3.0 undergrad GPA (graduated in May 2010). Anyone have any idea what a waitlist means for an early decision applicant? Does this mean we're put on a wait list with the rest of the waitlisted people for full time, or that our application will be reviewed again sooner? Anyone have any thoughts on my chances if I've applied twice now, wrote an optional essay on why Brooklyn is my first choice, and having been waitlisted from an Early Decision application with a 3.0 GPA and a 162 LSAT? Thanks!!

So I'm scared to even ask, but does everyone who applied have a "Fees" section on their status checker? I don't remember seeing this the first time I logged in but then again I was at work and only glanced at it. I was just wondering if this was normal?

Re: Waitlisted Brooklyn Law School 2011
Did anyone get an e-mail that asked if there was any interest in attending their part-time evening program?
I replied yes. I'm still not sure if that is something I want to do, but I'm willing to keep all my options open.
