New York Law School
I figured there would be another person or two who applied here. My status just went from application, sent to committee, from the date in November to today's date.

I am glad to see this thread, I really like the school and am impressed with the quality of professors. Doesn't hurt that TriBeca is home. My application is out as of today.

Welcome aboard the thread for NYLS. It does seem like a very committed law school, and it quite close to home for me.
What are everyones stats?
I will start with mine:
153/3.98

NJcollegestudent, I don't mean to throw out the typical TLS banter of "RETAKE!," but with your near-perfect GPA, I was just wondering if you did retake or plan on it? And you'll definitely get into NYLS.NJcollegestudent wrote:Welcome aboard the thread for NYLS. It does seem like a very committed law school, and it quite close to home for me.

I did not actually retake the LSAT, as i was close to my average, and wanted to stay close to home and my LSAT fell right around or in the range of the schools i applied to.

Re: New York Law School
I wrote out my answers and plan to record mine this weekend. I'm actually pretty impressed with NYLS's intellectual property programs which is the area I plan to specialize in. So even though I'm hoping to get into Brooklyn and/or Cardozo... I would happily settle for NYLS.adbabe wrote:did anyone do the online interview?

Re: New York Law School
sheesh! I didn't know there was one.adbabe wrote:did anyone do the online interview?
I did get a chance to meet the assistant director of admissions-glenn bell- he was so easy to speak with and provided great information. He really sold the school and their IP program. Like selling ice cream to a child.
does someone have the link to request an interview? I was also looking at rentals around there and it looks like I would have to live in Brooklyn (ride the train in) to afford it. I cannot find any details on the student housing, only that there is student housing (nothing about what it looks like, amenities, etc)
help?

This is one of those situations where the ice cream falls on the ground right after you pay for it, and the vendor says "tough luck kid."LilMonsterAnnie wrote: Like selling ice cream to a child.

Not sure if you are a douchebag or attempting to be witty - either way, if you have to explain it...trust me, you aren't funnyAqualibrium wrote:This is one of those situations where the ice cream falls on the ground right after you pay for it, and the vendor says "tough luck kid."LilMonsterAnnie wrote: Like selling ice cream to a child.

Don't worry, you'll be in a better position to understand the analogy right around March/April 2013

How can any of you seriously be considering going here? Don't you realize this school costs 50k a year and that's WITHOUT living expenses, combined with the fact that job prospects upon graduation are virtually nil?

That was a little offensive. My mother went here, paid off her loans a very long time ago. Never had a gab in employment, clerked after graduation and is a very successful corporate attorney now.MTal wrote:How can any of you seriously be considering going here?
