Queens (CUNY) Law School Class of 2014
I have not seen a thread for this law school. Is anyone applying to CUNY, and if so has your file gone complete. The admissions office told me it takes two weeks to verify your CAS report.

Did you go complete immediately, or have you waited for a bit until your file went complete? I ask as my file has all the required components, yet for a week or so it still says application incomplete. I called and asked the office, and they stated they hand verify all documents, so it takes a while.
Are you instate as well?

I am at 153 and 3.98 across the river in New Jersey. I will call them again if it stays that way for another week.
I hope you get in, and the tuition is the lowest for any school in state, about $8,000.

Hi everyone.
I applied on 11/15, went complete on 12/2. Currently "in review".
Anyone familiar with their timeline? Was there a thread last year we can dig up?

I am complete as of today 12/22/2010. To the poster above me, check LSN, as i think all decisions came after the New Year and mostly in February.

Regular mail - be on the lookout for a large olive envelope. (Unfortunately, the status checker does not say one way or the other. Mine still says "decision rendered.")Kurt Cobain wrote:Congrats! How did they tell you? CUNY is my first choice.thisisdeofsteinway wrote:Accepted as of today!![]()

Congratulations on your acceptance thisside. Was there any scholarship information you are aware of? I am not sure if CUNY (Queens) Law School is allowed to provide funding.

There was nothing included in the acceptance package, and if my experience with City College (also in the CUNY system) is any indicator large-scale scholarships will probably be few and far between.NJcollegestudent wrote:Congratulations on your acceptance thisside. I just went under review again from 12/22/2010 to 1/12/2011, and the message about a bachelors degree and letters of recommendation went away from the screen. Does this mean a decision is imminent on the application to Queens (CUNY) Law School.

Hi everyone, I am a 1L at CUNY. The admissions process takes a while. I didn't hear back until sometime in the Spring and I applied the December prior. There is a student in my class who was accepted during orientation. Be patient.
Hope to see you all next year.

I have a few questions if you do not mind.
Do you commute via mass transit or public transit to the law school?
If so, how long is it from New York Penn Station?

I commute from Long Island via the LIRR. If you take the Port Washington line it is a direct shot to the school.
Next January they are moving the school to Long Island City. While there is no parking available at the new location, it will be much more accessible from any of the five buroughs.
From Penn Station you would be taking the subway and busses. I would say give or take 45 minutes to an hour.

I was not aware of the move, however, i may have to live on campus.

That estimate was for the school's current location. Long Island City is within 15-20 minutes (at most) from Manhatten

Yes, that seemed to fit in with the current location. With the campus on Long Island City, i would be able to commute to and from home in about an hour and half.
