Whats the deal with updates? Forum

You can imagine my post question with a Jerry Seinfeld voice in your head if you like but I was wondering what the significance of updates were on various law school application status websites? It seems that there is a lot of emphasis being put on them in the different waiting threads on here.

For example my Georgetown app just went from 10/21 to 11/4 today, am I suppose to gain some knowledge from that?

Have you looked through the GULC Waiting Thread? People are theorizing that acceptances come in batches, grouped by completion date. For example, if three people all get acceptances and all went complete 11/4, then that might mean that Georgetown sent out a bunch of acceptances for people that went complete 11/4.

But, who knows? None of us are admissions officials, so it's all speculation.

GUCL sent out application acceptances to people whose 'complete' status is stuck at a certain date. So 11/04 would suggest they haven't made a decision yet.

11/02 on the other hand appears to be the date of choice for acceptances right now.

I used 11/4 as a hypothetical date example since that's the date OP posted. Don't worry, I've been stalking the hell out of the GULC thread. I'm in the 11/2 complete boat.

Not true. Yes 11/2 is what is confirmed right now, but 11/4 could be a decision, you'll have to wait at least till the tom. though to see if anyone heard anything. I had an interview on the 1st and then my status changed from the 22nd to the 4th. I'm hoping this means a decision. No email yet, so I'll be checking my mail frantically for the next couple of days
