Chapman's Full and Part time matrics for 2010 posted better numbers this year than the year before.
2010: 75th percentile, 3.68/161, Median GPA/LSAT 3.52/159, 25th percentile, 3.21/155
2009: 75th percentile, 3.56/159, Median GPA/LSAT 3.43/158, 25th percentile, 3.11/156
Chapman was TTTT until May 2008, then TTT for 2 years, and then is 93rd for 2010. Looks like they got a major bump via USNews for this year, which will probably bump them to the lhigh 70's or low 80's for next year, even if they don't even get much of an increase in the reputation numbers, which suck.
So have other schools been through similar bumps in the rankings like Chapman has in the past? Just wondering if there was much a precedent for this. If so, USNews has a huge effect on how a particular class turns out in a given year, because with all things being equal, Chapman stands to jump at least another 10-15 spots solely based on their admissions for the 2010. I didn't think USNews would have strong of an effect, but apparently it does.

I'm certain there are many schools that have risen through the rankings similar to Chapman.dcm81 wrote:So have other schools been through similar bumps in the rankings like Chapman has in the past?
George Mason rose from #71 in 1995 to #41 in 2005. That's 30 spots in 10 years.

Pepperdine rose from #99 in 2004 to #52 in 2010. That's 47 spots in 6 years.

The top of the legal profession will perpetuate the status quo in perpetuity. What Chapman is doing simply does not matter. It will not alter the hierachy.
This is why I think successful lawyers are almost invariably giant dicks (or cunts).

Doesn't seem like there is much difference in Tier 2 schools, so it makes it easy for schools like Chapman to jump in the rankings. Gets harder as you get around 40-55 range in the rankings. I'm sure Pepperdine is going to have a hard time going much higher.

after T1, the rankings are almost meaningless. ITE probably meaningless beyond T20.
