Part-time Santa Clara or Full-time Penn State? Please help!

Post by lawjt » Thu Jul 22, 2010 7:05 pm

I have been accepted to both Santa Clara, as a part-timer, and Penn State as a full-timer. I have no intention of working during the school year. I wish to practice in California after graduating. I would also like to have the chance of transferring after my first year if I do well. At Santa Clara I will be taking 21 units and 8 units in the summer before the 2nd year. UCLA, for example, told me that it is possible to transfer after the first year, although one is seen as "having less of a basis". Any suggestions. So confused right now.....

If you want to work in California this is an easy choice. SCU places reasonably well in Silicon Valley. I doubt Penn State places well anywhere in California.

It's absolutely possible to transfer out of SCU t to other CA schools, and a fair number of students do so each year. I'm not sure how much harder it is for part time students, however. I suggest not worrying about transfer prospects, and instead thinking about which school will help you most upon graduation from it.
