Chicago Kent vs. Loyola Chicago HELP!
I am torn between Chicago-Kent and Loyola-Chicago. I was offered a full tuition scholarship for Kent for my first year and $25,000/year for the 2nd and 3rd years (with a 3.25 GPA stipulation). I was offered $15,000/year at Loyola (with a 3.0 GPA stipulation).
I want to go into family, adoption, or immigration law most likely.
What do people think??
Thanks!

Considering your scholarship offers, I would go to Chicago Kent. Having the GPA stipulation, I would plan on not getting the scholarship your second and third year. Ask yourself, if you lost the money after 1L, then which school would you feel the most comfortable attending.

Go with Kent since you recieved more money, and the gpa stipulation is not that much more drastic. The employment prospects for these two schools are practically identical from what I understand. Good luck!lsal123 wrote:I am torn between Chicago-Kent and Loyola-Chicago. Now Loyola upped my scholarship to match Kent's offer: full tuition the first year and $25,000 for the second and third years. The money at Loyola is contingent on a 3.0 GPA vs. Kent's contingency of 3.25. One last thing- Kent also has an offer where you can get $20,000/year, with no GPA stipulations.
What do you think?!?!

I recommend Loyola. A 3.0 at Loyola shouldn't be a problem. However, law school performance is undpredictable. Maybe you should base it on what type of law you want to practice.

You might want to look at what the median GPA is set at, then see if the two are the same. I would go with either the one with the lowest requirement in comparison to the median GPA. Or if one has a program you particularly like, choose it.

Yes, was committed to Chicago-Kent. I am most likely switching to Loyola now.thinkhard wrote:Loyola called and raised your scholarship?
