No...nothing at all. During my visit they said to expect movement after 5/1.

Do you know how many people are usually placed on the waitlist?

I have no clue. I know last year they were still pulling people off into August.

Have you gone to visit the school?

Yeah, I took a visit about a month or so ago.

I saw on LSN that many people have withdrawn (both accepted and waitlisted) so I hope that bodes well for us.

on lsn numbers they seemed to take or waitlist alot more people in the high 140's and low 150's then the other schools in area. What is the deal with that? I assume some of them are pt applicants.

When did you both apply? Submitted my application 4/19/10 and per status checker "file with admissions committee." How soon after submitting did you receive decision?

I went complete 3/2. Waitlisted on 4/8.

Because lots of people pull out and go elsewhere, so they need lots of other people to take those spots.

What confuses me is Hofstra seems to have lower ugpa and lsat standards yet they have moved up consisently in the top 100.

Anyone know what it would take to get work in NYC out of Hofstra (class rank)? I don't mean BigLaw, but maybe work with a mid-size or PI firm.

I sent mine to the assistant dean of admissions along with an email letting him know that it was on the way. I have to say the office of enrollment mangement has always been extremely friendly and helpful to me.

Yes, he did. He responded very quickly and was very nice.

I emailed him with an informal email. The primary purpose of the email was to let him know that I had placed a formal LOCI in the mail addressed to his attention.
