No word from Northwestern
I submitted my application for Northwestern and did the interview in October. My application was complete on November 3rd. I got the status check email from them on November 5th. Since then I haven't had any contact with the university. I know they usually try and notify applicants within 8 weeks. It has been almost 6 months. Is this unusual?

I also had not heard from NW in a while. I decided to send them a friendly email asking for an update on my file, was told that they were behind and that they couldn't give me a timeframe on when I could expect to hear back, and was promptly rejected the same day. May have just been a coincidence, but be careful for what you ask for!

Hmmm...I'm not sure, but that seems like a really long time. I applied mid-January and heard last month (well, not a final decision, they put my application on hold).

No hold or anything. My status check just says application complete 11/3. I think I'll call.

I'd definitely call. You should have been placed on hold if they wanted to take this long to review your app.mbenesh wrote:No hold or anything. My status check just says application complete 11/3. I think I'll call.

I've been complete since 2/9. I don't plan to call, which would probably only serve as a reminder for them to reject my application.

In my opinion, it would be wise to "listen" to the second post.
P.S. I probably should have added multiple exclamation points after my first sentence.
