"it's April and I haven't heard from my top choice" thread
So it's going on mid April, and I still haven't heard from my top choice school--though I have gotten into some stellar schools.
Not knowing for sure what I'm doing next fall is finally starting to get to me.
Who else is going semi-insane as they wait to see if they'll be admitted to their dream school? Are we losing hope with every passing day?
And of course the ever popular question: "If I haven't heard from them yet and most schools have an April 15th seat deposit date, is this a bad sign that like 99% of their class is already made up and I'm probably screwed?"
Suffer and complain here.

Ah I'm still waiting on UNLV and agonizing over committing to Albany or Seattle by April 15th. It looks like i have to choose one while i wait on UNLV though it's crazy to keep me at pending until i have to commit to another school even if they admit me before the 15th i heard they still won't give scholarship info until it arrives in the mail. Ugh I'll probably be waitlisted anyways due to their high in state requirement.

Your poll and the thread topic aren't really the same issue, but I voted and I must say I'm very happy with my cycle. I'm as traditional of an applicant as one can possibly be (straight from UG, non-URM, no major work experience, not a legacy) and I applied early, so my cycle went exactly as predicted. I got rejected from the school I expected to get rejected from, got into the schools I expected to get into, and got waitlisted at the schools I thought I was 50/50 to get in.
For those of you waiting, when did you apply? If it was before December, I feel your pain. If it was after the New Year, I really can't sympathize with you. And if it was in December, then I'm not sure if I pity you or not.

Reporting. I just sent in my first deposit and am very happy with my decision but am still waiting for two more schools. I applied in early December, so it's been kind of a long cycle.

I heard from my top choice in December, but I was waitlisted. I've been in waitlist hell ever since. I paid the deposit for my fallback school last week, but I'm hoping my top choice picks me from the waitlist by June 1 so I don't have to pay the second deposit. I'll rest much easier when I can start making real plans for August...afterall, it's only 4 months away.

Yeah... I actually was thinking about what I wrote in the actual post, and then my mind wondered off to the poll question, and I figured I'd ask it as well. But yeah they aren't directly correlated, I was just curious about both and didn't want to make two threads haha.romothesavior wrote:Your poll and the thread topic aren't really the same issue
I took the December LSAT so I didn't my score back until right around January 1st. And at that time I was on a trip. So by the time I got back from my trip and got all my apps out, it was the end of January. Almost all my schools had March 1st deadlines, so I thought getting my apps in a month early was pretty good. They should really tell you that if you want any shot you can't take the December LSAT and should be applying by December instead. It's kind of dumb for them to have March 1st deadlines if they won't get to any of the kids that apply right around then anyway, because by the time they get to you it's after most schools' seat deposit dates and they have pretty much a full class. They should start saying "final deadline is March 1st, but for kids who actually want a shot at getting accepted, apply by December 1st" on every schools website.

Held at Northwestern...I suppose that's not quite the same, but close enough.

I voted "satisfied." I came into this cycle "sure" of the school that I wanted to attend; then, found myself strangely unmoved when I was WL'd. Of the choices I have remaining, I'm quite satisfied.
Goes to show, "You can't always get what you want ... but you just might find that you get what you need."
