The list below is from LSN, it includes pertristis and others who post here. It is a list of everyone on LSN who has been admitted off the waitlist so far. Some may post under a different name and some may play with their numbers. I still think the trend is worth noting.

According to LSN thier numbers last cycle were:
75th GPA: 3.81 75th LSAT: 171
Median GPA: 3.7 Median LSAT: 168
25th GPA: 3.45 25th LSAT: 166

So everyone below is above last years median LSAT (all but 4 are at or above the 75%) but 9 are below their median GPA. Heavy splitter pertristis even got some money out of them. The initial trend is that they are either trying to increase or maintain their LSAT score. They are not too concerned about GPA as evidenced by the fact that the GPA numbers are all over the place (2 below 25%, 8 between 25% and median, 7 at or above median). The two people who were waitlisted then rejected had sub median LSATs and one high GPA, one low.

Username LSAT GPA $$$$
IHaveDietMoxie 170 3.7
pertristis N 177 3.42 $30,000

I don't know exactly what kind of value we can get from the data yet. If you are on the waitlist with a high LSAT then you should be hopeful. Certainly the knowledge that they are giving money to at least one applicant off the waitlist is good news. If you have an offer from a competing school and high LSAT that is good news. FWIW I got an email today asking if I was still interested. I said I was. I am in the high LSAT splitter group - 175,2.98. The email said they would put out more offers in the next two weeks.

Same e-mail from GULC today, Murph, and similar stats. Let's hope for a one-two Murphy Brown acceptance.

WL'd at Virginia and Texas. Will ride them throughout the summer. If WL'd as opposed to rejected at Penn, will ride that one as well.

Tigrelis, would you mind sharing your stats with us. You wrote that you were SPWL at GULC then accepted. Were you a high LSAT splitter like the rest of the people on the list? That seems to be the trend. Did they offer any money?
Congratulations too.

so much talk about April 15th. And it's my birthday. I am really hoping for good news this Thursday....

Specifically from Cardozo with an admittance notice for their May program....I sent in my app super late (March 2nd) but I'm crossing my fingers!!!!

I have a feeling i'll be one of those granted acceptance a few days before their program starts (seeing as how I have low numbers)

good luck to everyone else!

WL at Case Western. I blame applying too late. Does anyone think we'll hear anything soon after the 4/15 deposit deadline?

This list contains a few updates from the April 15th cluster that got accepted. The analysis above still holds: They are taking high LSAT applicants. There are quite a few WL-->Accepts who are below median GPA. There is no URM action. So they met their quotas for GPA and URM status but are still trying to meet their own LSAT quota.

No new offers of scholarships from the waitlist. I also spoke to them on the phone today. "May 3, still interested, GLUC is top choice blah, blah blah"

I checked a few other schools that I am following.
UVA admitted one student from the waitlist 4 months ago: HopefulJAF (URM) 3.9, 163

There are a couple of WL--> rejected at PENN, both found out a month ago:
smb490 167 3.9
bdubs N 164 3.5

WUSTL had one WL-->accept about 5 months ago, (probably a YP): mlipsco 171 3.58

Northwestern had a couple of WL--> Rejects a few weeks back. Both have lower than median LSAT and significant work experience: ainzabo7 UN 163 3.7
fl0w (URM) 161 3.3

Nothing at DUKE, VANDY, UCLA or Cornell.

WL at:

Columbia
Penn
Cornell (reserve)
UCLA
BC (Withdrew, duh :P)

I would go in a heartbeat to Columbia (and NYU if I make the wait list there, still haven't heard), but I believe those two are pretty deep wait lists. Happy at UVa otherwise!

I encourage you to go to LSN and track theses schools too. Just click on the school's page, take not of the 25%, median and 75% numbers and then click on applicants. Arrange the applicants by status: accepted will be first, then rejects, then waitlist, then pending. When they start pulling people off of the waitlists the status will change from "waitlist" to "waitlist, accepted." Emory, for example, has not pulled anyone off the waitlist yet. Don't worry it is still early.

I really only have time to track the schools that I am riding out. But I encourage others to do the same for their schools.
