unfavorable action as well. f columbia. why place me on the waitlist to begin with and then reject me, when, with zero effort, they could just keep stringing me along?

Would people mind posting stats when saying if they got in/second reserve/dinged? Only if your comfortable, obviously, but it would be really helpful to see if there's any rhyme or reason to what they're doing.

To all those who received unfavorable action (if you are still checking this group) did you follow up with Letters of Continued interest or recommendations?
I think that may be a difference between those on 2nd reserve and those not... I have pretty low numbers for columbia but I demonstrated strong interest and I made it to the second reserve.

I sent more LOR's and LOCI's and even visited [edit from Indiana].. so I think I displayed a strong interest. About the same effort got me off the waitlist at Penn. When I visited they basically told me 'good luck' because they replace those who said no with waitlisted applicants with similar characteristics. I'm 165/3.93.

Don't think so. No one in here at least. I think admits get phone calls, though, no?

What do people make of those who haven't received a letter yet? Has anyone thought about calling to inquire?

Too scared.

Also, what would I say? "So, like everyone in the TLS waitlist forum has gotten letters and I haven't. What gives?" haha

No. Nonurm, right out of undergrad. Didn't get to visit Penn it was Columbia that told me about the waitlist procedure.

How about: "My first reserve letter indicated I would receive something at the end of May. I haven't received anything yet. I was wondering when I might expect to receive a further update on my status?"

I sent an LOCI. 168/3.8, good softs. And FWIW, I first applied to law school in 2008 and made it to the second reserve before withdrawing...

Dinged with 165/174, 3.64. 174 was a Feb score so they held my app until it came in... which was obviously late. Did not submit a LOCI. I'm going to Harvard's Kennedy School in the fall, but was interested in a joint JD/MPP with CLS. I will probably apply again this year.

Good luck to everyone still waiting!!

It is... Is it also connected to CLS so that you get an MPP/JD in 4 years, chutzpah?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
