Fordham v. Cardozo v. Brooklyn v. St. Johns

Post by phillyphanatic123 » Sun Mar 21, 2010 9:56 pm

Fordham - no money offer yet, but I was just accepted (Night time program - I applied only to that program)
Cardozo - 32K
Brooklyn - 29K (34K tuition) (Night time program - I applied only to that program)
St. Johns - Full (Night time program - I applied only to that program)

165, 3.95 (top 50 private)

I'm going to ask for more money from Brooklyn and Cardozo, b/c i should have received full, I believe, with my numbers.

Is Brooklyn significantly better than St. Johns? Would anybody take Fordham at sticker?

Thanks in advance!!!

Fordham is clearly your best option here but it really depends on what you are looking to do.

I would consider Fordham at sticker. It's a deeply personal choice on that one, as Fordham places almost twice as many people in NLJ 250 as any of its peers. But at sticker, you're costing yourself a huge amount of money, with no absolute guarantee you'll make the big bucks. With that said, your options are significantly (though not necessarily 100k+) better from Fordham.

Regarding your question on Brooklyn vs. St John's, Brooklyn's location is much better than St. John's and much more accessible. Whether its 20k better (over 4 years) that's up to you.

i think brooklyn is significantly better than st johns; if you do well enough at brooklyn you have a very good chance at making big bucks. Fordham is clearly the best option, wait to see if you get money from them!

You can't expect Cardozo to give you more money - they're all out. I've been asking them this for a while. They've told me they can consider me for more over the summer but that I need to make my decision with my current offer.
