Woah yeah definitely chill out. How are people freaking out over this when the undergraduate admissions review process was like at least 4 months? This process takes patience. Even with the purported "rolling admissions" system. Even for your safeties. Yes, some people have enjoyed an insanely quick turnaround time but how entitled do you have to feel to freak out over a 2-month waiting period?

That being said, when in doubt, send the school a LOCI in the words of Lil' Wayne: "And I'm seeing what you need and I'm thinkin it's me."
haha good one

when I was interning for a non-profit that did work with college students we had very large university's dean of admissions give a workshop on their process. She said some students put no real thought into admission essays. Their admission essay question was something like "Why do you want to attend our university?". She gave an example of one guy who's essay in response was one sentence in all caps that said "BECAUSE I'M AWESOME!"

I am assuming a diff scenario....

a board reviews if they are all not in agreement it goes to other reviewers that review independently. and then they will take majority or 4 out of 6 or something like that.

Two months is not a long time to warrant this kind of panic and cursing though. Anyone who reads TLS even infrequently should know that there are people currently waiting 4 months or more for a response at this point. It is a little ridiculous for OP to have gone off the chain the way they did when there are other people who've been waiting much longer.

Agreed. OP, when did you apply? A wait of 2 months is not that long, especially if you waited to apply until January or something. And if your numbers are marginal, then the long wait probably should have been expected.

I applied to Vanderbilt in October, interviewed in early November, and didn't get a decision until mid-February. Ended up getting an acceptance and a good scholarship. I was anxious and nervous, but didn't feel the need to resort to profanity-laced bitching. So you just need to take a chill pill.

Just try to relax, enjoy life, and hope for the best. They will get back to you soon.

2 months is nothin'. Those of us who applied early have been waiting for five months(+) in some cases. We applied early before the rush to get a quick answer only to be put in the pile with those who applied two months ago. I guess that means we are in the slush pile, but we could get in I guess. Best of luck to everyone on their apps, especially the OP.

I think being "under review" for two months is a long time, though. I mean, UCR for two months, not that the app was sent two months ago.

It took Cornell two to three months just to go from "applied" to "complete" in most cases.

If my status checker said "in review" or "under committee review" for over two months, that's the point when I would start freaking out.

I don't know how many of you have been UCR for over two months, but if OP is, I feel his/her pain.

OP, get a six-pack of Shiner Bock and watch Season 3 of Storm Chasers on YouTube. This is the proper way to handle such a situation. Unless the Washington Caps are on Versus. In which case, hell if I know which to choose.

And if that doesn't work, try transcendental meditation.

Two months is nothing. I applied everywhere in early November. UT sat on the app until last week (and actually let me in - surprising after all that time). Those still sitting? You can tell me no. It's okay.

You've got quite the skewed view of this thread it appears.

I don't think so, I think you are just a tool. My guess (judging by your 16 post per day) is that you troll this, and probably many other internet message boards, trying to sound superior so as to make up for the inadequacies of the loser sitting in front of the computer screen.

Holy flawed assumptions, Batman.

I love it when newbs come in and start trying to rip on people and pretend like they know what they're talking about. It's entertaining.

Have you been complete for two months or does your status checker actually say in review? If you're just complete, that's pretty normal, but if you're truly in review, that does seem like kind of a long time. How soon are other people on TLS finding out about that particular school? If everyone else is going in review for like a week and then getting a decision then there might be something wrong.

The reason why I say this is because this happened to me earlier in the cycle. According to my status checker, I was under review for two months. Everyone else seemed to be getting quick decisions so I called... and it turns out that they put me on hold a few weeks prior but forgot to update my status checker.

If you've been accepted or rejected at this point you probably would have found out through snail mail, but it's possible that you're on hold, so you may want to call and see what's going on. If you're on hold, at least you will know to send a LOCI.

I've definitely been under review for more than two months. I guess I should call them today.

This may be a stupid question and maybe I am just new to the site and process but is a wait a bad thing? I'm waiting on 6 schools and some have been complete/pending review/with the admissions committee since Jan.-Feb. My question is there a chance I can get accepted into one of these schools after the long wait or do they just string you along to say no anyways? (The status checkers haven't mentioned a waitlist either)

Actually, the post used evidence to establish a conclusion. There was not a lot of evidence, so at best this was a moderately weak inductive argument.

However, your original response was also attacking someone who used evidence to establish their "skewed" view of the thread. And as opposed to utilizing any evidence to respond, you simply use terse cliche conclusionary responses to any thread that you do not agree with. So, I submit this as more evidence to the growing pile that points to the conclusion that you are in fact a loser.

Oh, and you also used the term "newb", which is negative one million coolness points.

UC Davis is taking longer then Cornell. I applied a month later to Cornell and I'll probably get my answer from them first. I have been under review at UC Davis for about 4 1/2 months.

I've been in review for 2 months at one school (17 weeks complete). And also sent to the reserve pile at cornell for a decision sometime in May? I forget. And waitlisted at all my top choices. all my apps were in by the second wk of November. It appears that the school where I'm IR for 2 months has a long wait by standard, so I'm not overly optimistic that it's a good sign, but I've also been waitlisted/held at schools around the same rank when I should have been an auto-reject by the numbers. So it's hard to say. I think we have to presume the wait is good for full consideration. I find it difficult to reconcile such a long wait for a decision that should be an auto-reject, unless they were looking at a variety of factors. All this said, I'll be satisfied with any decision at this point because enough time has gone by for me to feel like my app has gotten a fair shake. I found the fast rejections to be the most unsettling.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
