Ridiculous Georgetown Interview Story
Interview Requested by the GULC committee: 1/13/2010
Interview: Not Yet Scheduled
Despite e-mailing the interview coordinator at the admissions office multiple times over the past few months, she has seemed extremely unconcerned about my "extended wait for an alumna to contact me."
Um, this can't be normal, right? I mean, GULC pretty much only has spots left on their "special preferred" waitlist at this point... should I stop caring about this sub-par degree mill in DC's lamest neighborhood?
Thoughts/similar experiences appreciated!

I agree with you that that timing is definetely ridiculous. Perhaps you should try to call the office instead of emailing them?

I am having a hard time figuring out why you would even want to go to a school that you characterize so poorly. I understand being frustrated, but, that aside, it seems like you despise this school...so why on earth do you care? I don't mean to sound snide at all, I just can't figure out why this would bother you so much if you hold the school in such low regard.

Completely depends on OP's options, right? If I had any other T14 acceptance in hand, I'd tell GULC to pound sand.nowinGA wrote:I am having a hard time figuring out why you would even want to go to a school that you characterize so poorly. Re: Ridiculous Georgetown Interview Story
i do have another T14 option in hand at the moment, and I definitely do not have any desire to go to georgetown.
i'm sticking with it though just for the satisfaction of shredding/burning a potential offer of admission. i really liked georgetown before this two month delay... oh well...

The OP does not represent the views of UVA. We think Georgetown is the bees knees.

That could be my sincerely-wanted offer of admission, or that of someone more qualified than me with similar sentiment.uvacandie wrote:i do have another T14 option in hand at the moment, and I definitely do not have any desire to go to georgetown.

Not likely, since the vast majority of accepted students don't enroll. They've already accounted for that.foxyeconomist wrote:That could be my sincerely-wanted offer of admission, or that of someone more qualified than me with similar sentiment.uvacandie wrote:i do have another T14 option in hand at the moment, and I definitely do not have any desire to go to georgetown.

If you don't want to go there, withdraw. You are a bag of douche.

Perhaps your abrasive and obnoxious attitude was apparent in your emails and, for that reason, they've decided not to schedule it. You come of as a child who wants to go to a party, doesn't get invited, and then stomps their feet and screams "WELL I DIDN'T WANNA GO ANYWAY! THAT PARTY IS STUPID."
Best of luck!

If GULC is a degree mill because of large entering class sizes, what do you call HLS?

Re: Ridiculous Georgetown Interview Story
Not sure what the practice of the admissions office in getting alumni to call you has to do with the school being a diploma mill.
It sounds like you're not going to go there anyway, so why do you care? Is this merely about your swollen ego being bruised? Just withdraw since it seems clear that you don't want to go there. You're essentially complaining that some uglier girl won't call you back about prom when you already have a hotter date. Maybe the school doesn't want to stain one of their alumni by having an asshat like you bitch to them in an interview. stfu.

I have nothing against GULC, but my Georgetown interviewer spent like 20 minutes trying to convince me not to go to law school. He was doing fine too, partner at a biglaw firm in Atlanta.
