Denied from a school I didn't apply to
Am I really that bad of a potential student that FSU doesn't even want me to consider applying?? Here is the email I just got:
Subject:
Recall: Consider applying to Florida State University College of Law
Body:
Tillman, Samuel would like to recall the message, "Consider applying to Florida State University College of Law".

Yes, you are too dumb to attend their law school.
In my case, I am too good to attend their law school, that's why they recalled the message they sent me. They knew I was too awesome and wouldn't consider attending.

I got that, too. It was really weird. I got the consider applying email, then the recall email, then another consider applying email. Anyway, I don't apply unless a fee waiver is offered. Kinda lame to keep bugging me to apply without offering to waive the fee.

I got the same email, and would apply, except app fees for florida state schools cannot be waived

Anyone else write back?
"Thank you for your email. I will promptly forget any and all thoughts about FSU, including, but not limited to, any consideration of applying to the FSU College of Law.
Regards,
TDubs"

Got the same three emails, I was kinda pissed that I had 3 new emails and none were from a school I cared about.

I wish some schools would offer an unsubscribe option like Detroit Mercy.
Sam Tillman is not part of the admissions committee; he is the FSU Systems Admin. My guess is he was trying out some new options, but chose the wrong addressees. I'm tempted a snarky response to the email, but will hold myself back.

Did anyone get the emails a while back I think from the University of Dayton that had typos? First they sent an email about an upcoming event or something, then sent a second email apologizing for an error in the first that was itself riddled with obvious typos.

Yeah UDM's emails have gotten annoying. I'm pretty sure the last one said "you are receiving this email because you subscribed to our mailing list or indicated at an event that you would like to receive emails from us" when that is definitely not the case.ApexChaser wrote:I wish some schools would offer an unsubscribe option like Detroit Mercy.

Haha... I just looked at my emails. You're right, there isn't an unsubscribe. I was thinking of Cincinnati. My new theory of law school legitimacy: whether or not they let you unsubscribe from emails.

Thanks for this observation! I just unsubscribed! I especially dislike Detroit Mercy because it comes over as UDM. Of course, I am waiting to be taken off the waitlist from UMD (Maryland) and, at first glance, suffer a near heart attack everytime I get spammed by Detroit Mercy.ApexChaser wrote:I wish some schools would offer an unsubscribe option like Detroit Mercy.

Got two emails to apply and the recall email in a ten minute time frame. Irritated me as I was studying for a test and everytime my phone vibrates I get excited that it may be a decision email. Replied "stop emailing me"

You just haven't tried hard enough. They can waiver your app fee if they really want to.DonnyMost wrote:I got the same email, and would apply, except app fees for florida state schools cannot be waived

Haha yeah I got that. And my Ohio State acceptance email said I was admitted to the class of 2012! Didn't know I applied for the express 2 year JD....
