Applied 11-30, accepted by 1-8 (I say by because I had been away from any internet for a week and checked my status checker as soon as I got back). 161/3.66. There are several acceptances on LSN as well.

I applied 1/6 and got my acceptance letter yesterday. I got an e-mail about a week ago saying my file was complete if that helps at all. 159/3.36.

Acceptance letter arrived today. Applied 1/6, complete email about a week ago.
Status checker still shows no decision.

I got the acceptance letter a week after I got my status checker finally worked out. That was the 11th and the status checker still hasn't changed. Don't call the admissions office though, not too terribly friendly.

Re: Georgia State University - 2010
I have found them to be very nice and helpful. I went to the Open House and met them there and have exchanged emails as well. My file is on hold until the Feb. scores come out. I got an email that said my file was complete and was worried they would hold my application and emailed her. She emailed me right back and assured me it was on hold as I requested. Now the status checker says "no decision" but I know they held the application, so I won't worry. Ms. Bennett even gave me the direct line to the financial aid lady to get some information and she was very helpful as well.gutten wrote:Don't call the admissions office though, not too terribly friendly.
Ga State is pretty much the only school I want to go to due to its location more than anything. I have kids in school and my dh has a job here, so moving isn't an option. I got a 158 on the Dec. 08 LSAT, so I hope I got at least a 159 this time. I have a 3.97 GPA and have been teaching for 10 yrs. and a LOR from an alumni that was my educational law professor last year. I know I can probably get in but until I see my new score and see the official acceptance, I will not rest easy.

Maybe that was a little much. I had trouble with them getting a prospective student account set up and she was not to helpful. That was just one time though, other than that the school has been quick and straightforward with everything else. I think you should not have any worries though, with those numbers I don't see why you wouldn't be a quick pick.

I have found them kind and helpful as well...both in person and via email. If you call, it is likely that you got one of the law students that sit at the front desk of the admissions office for a workstudy job, and their friendliness will certainly vary, likely alongside their daily workload from school work,Bruiser wrote:I have found them to be very nice and helpful.gutten wrote:Don't call the admissions office though, not too terribly friendly.
When I went on a tour, I was the only one, Ms. Bennett and one of the 1L's gave me the tour together (it was his first week as a front desk attendant in the adm. office) and they were super friendly and spent a ton of time with me answering questions, etc. I met several professors and other staff and they were friendly, happy and helpful as well.

I applied and plan on visiting soon, but I have a question for you all that have been there: What are the facilities like? Nice?
How about parking?

The facilities were all-right, everything seemed kind of old but a few of the classrooms were recently renovated. Everything is in one building, takes up about 3 floors of the building or so. There is a parking lot right behind the building, it's $6 for the day, kind of expensive for semester though. I did see a little private parking lot right behind that though that advertised parking for $99 a semester, which sounded a lot better to me. I took a look at the rec center that is next door and it seemed REALLY nice, I'm excited about that!

Congrats for the admittance!
How are the generally notifying people? Letter or status checker? I went complete Monday (well actually earlier than that but they were holding for Feb. scores). I see on LSN that the status checkers aren't updated that frequently.

My status checker changed to "Congratulations, you've been admitted" on Tuesday 12/15...and my admission packet that I received on 12/17 was dated 12/14. I went complete 10/6...so no idea about length of timeBruiser wrote:Congrats for the admittance!

I found out through the mail about two weeks before my online status checker changed. I applied early January, found out towards the middle/end of February.Bruiser wrote:Congrats for the admittance!

I'm on hold. Any information about that, or what actions should be taken?

Good luck to all. I withdrew my application today so they could make room for someone else.

When are seat deposits due? That will help me figure out when people will be taken off the waitlists and when they are finished with their decisions. I know the application deadline is March 15.

I was just put into hold at Georgia State even though Georgia accepted me after 6 days. I was going to UGA anyway, but I would like to have the option to stay in Atlanta if necessary.

What's the deal with the hold? Is that a waitlist?

My status checker hasn't changed. I have been complete since 2/15 but they said they were holding my file until 3/1 (Feb. LSAT score). None of this was indicated on the status checker. I figure no news is good news. I nervously check the mail box every day and figure each day that I don't get a rejection than there is still hope.
I live in West Georgia and Ga State is pretty much my only choice. I figure if I don't get rejected, I will get waitlisted. Yeah, way to think positive, I know.

I dont know if its waitlist, its a holding for second review... probably it might as well be a waitlist though.

Re: Georgia State University - 2010
Did it say this on the status checker (on hold, second review)? I don't think that's a bad sign, at least they are still considering you. Good luck!
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
