GW Part time...wtf
So I guess cutting your class down from 150 to 50 will make you a lot more selective but damn. I got dinged about 3 weeks (applied early Jan) with a 3.4, 164 from a top 20 undergrad. Oh and I actually work. I figured a waitlist would be coming my way. No one with my numbers has gotten rejected on LSN - several reverse-splitters have gotten accepted/waitlisted. Should I even bother calling them? I wouldn't care - I have gotten into some great full-time programs but I really need part-time.

I don't think calling them and trying to reason with them about your rejection would do anything.
Sorry for the bad news.
If your statement about reducing their class size from 150 to 50 is accurate, this scares me. I got waitlisted for PT at GW. Is that number only for PT students?

I was straight up rejected for their PT program too with a 3.65/163. It's life. GW is too much money for what you get in my opinion.belkin00 wrote:So I guess cutting your class down from 150 to 50 will make you a lot more selective but damn. it depends. IMHO, for DC's gov't or biglaw GW is next best after GULC. Maybe even better than GULC since GULC tend to ship their grads to NYC.robin600 wrote:I was straight up rejected for their PT program too with a 3.65/163. It's life. You can get the same kind of job from W&M and W&L from a much better price.nooyyllib wrote:it depends. IMHO, for DC's gov't or biglaw GW is next best after GULC. Of course UVa but I was implying schools at the non-t14 level.
WM and W&L are legit schools with legit VA connections but IMHO, GW has a wider ranging alumni network in DC.
Again, that's just my opinion.

I definitely agree with you there. While the economy is taking its toll, GW is a respected name in DC.nooyyllib wrote:Of course UVa but I was implying schools at the non-t14 level.

Yeah WM and WL are great schools, but I work and a PT program would've been great. I am just not sold on GMU.
