Getting acceptance via Waitlist

How rare or common is it to get accepted when you are placed on a waitlist?

I don't think it is very common. Some times nobody gets off the waitlist. Some schools use it as a way to politely reject you. It just depends on the school and the situation.

It depends on the school, usually they admit some people off the waitlist, and you have a greater chance the higher your numbers are.

You're usually likely to get wait listed or rejected, but being on hold means they are seriously considering you. So if the other applications they recieve are about avg. to yours, it's more likely you'll get in. If they are better, the more likely you will be out. I'd def. send in a LOCI right about now if I were you.
