I like your title better than my suggestion. As you started the thread, I nominate you to call Berk and ask about all of our applications.

I'm wondering if we'll hear before the 10/22 crowd hits the four month mark. Two and a half weeks to go.

Re: Berkeley Support: UR early (Oct-Dec), No FR, just confused
So how about everybody shares their theory of what is up with our application...
My optimistic side says that Dean Tom is trying to determine whether to accept us outright or send us to faculty review (or perhaps whether to reject us outright or send us to faculty review). Now that the application deadline has passed all the applicants will be in for him to look at and figure out what to do with us.
My other theory? Our applications are lost...at the bottom of the ocean...under a rock...surrounded by a swarm of sharks.
Not sure yet which theory is more realistic.

UR since 12/14 and now I'm realizing it's not as long as many of you here! Wow!
But I'm in the same boat. Good luck to all of you!
And Jetsto our applications are in a folder that was knocked over behind the fax machine, collecting dust, lol...

They laughed when they read them and donated them to the homeless people in People's Park to use as blunt wraps.

I don't think so. I'm in state, same UR date as you.billerd wrote:Could any of this be regional? LIke maybe everybody is out of state or something?

I also don't have Berkeley stats. I feel like maybe it's an unofficial hold to see what the rest of the applicant pool looks like.
Don't you all think we would have gotten rejected last week if we were to get rejected?

Why do you say last week? Was there something particular about last week?Veritas wrote:I don't think so. I'm in state, same UR date as you.billerd wrote:Could any of this be regional? LIke maybe everybody is out of state or something?

And I also don't have stats as strong as the rest of you. :-/

Exactly! I like the "unofficial hold" theory...as long as it doesn't lead to a Ding, right?Veritas wrote: Don't you all think we would have gotten rejected last week if we were to get rejected?
(P.S. UR 12/7)

There were a bunch more of us in this situation until last week!cherryalamode wrote:Why do you say last week? Was there something particular about last week?Veritas wrote:I don't think so. Rejections came out mid week, I believe -

Yeah, I agree with you. I think we're the borderline/unofficial hold pile. I have a feeling now that the applicant pool is complete, we'll start hearing. I'm hoping we're all on the borderline admit/FR pool (rather than FR/deny pool)!JetstoRJC wrote:So how about everybody shares their theory of what is up with our application...

Wait, real money? I have a bet with my boyfriend that I won't get in. If I get in, I owe him a night out at our favorite bar. If I don't, he owes me the same thing. I think I've annoyed the crap out of him with all this "what does it all mean?! Why, Dean Tom, why?!" stuff.Veritas wrote:I have money on you getting insandiecohen47 wrote:Veritas, thank you for starting this thread!

But seriously, if I get in... you best be getting in, too. Your love for Dean Tom is purer than mine.

I might put money on it, I'm pretty sure I'll win. But maybe I just covet your UCLA acceptance and hope to take that spot once you withdraw from Berk.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
