Accepted via phone today... Package in the mail. Not sue if I would realistically attend without significant $$$, but we'll see.

I heard from them on Tuesday. They attached a hand written note with my acceptance letter, which was really cool, I thought. Its not my top choice, but an option nonetheless.

My status was your file is complete and in review on 12/9. The date just changed to 2/3. Does this mean anything or does it actually mean they are really reviewing it now, and lied to me before haha.

If NESL isn't an autoadmit, don't go to LS.Aloha4 wrote:My status was your file is complete and in review on 12/9. The date just changed to 2/3. Does this mean anything or does it actually mean they are really reviewing it now, and lied to me before haha.

I'm not going to NESL, just wondering. Already in elsewhere.

Uncalled for. Not everyone is an autoadmit, and some of those people who aren't autoadmits are intelligent. Maybe they have lousy numbers because they were sick on the day of the test, or had to support their siblings while in college because their single mother died. And yes, they'll write moving personal statements to reach schools and be denied anyway. So because some of us have had lousy luck in life and been faced with tragedy or misfortune, we should just give up and go into waste disposal? If you think NELS is so lousy, why even visit this thread? Remarks like yours are ignorant and unnecessary, and there are enough of the sort on this board already. No need to throw one more out there.reasonable_man wrote:If NESL isn't an autoadmit, don't go to LS.Aloha4 wrote:My status was your file is complete and in review on 12/9. Complete 1/11, Admitted 1/28. It was my safety with a fee waiver, though I'm not likely to attend without full $$$$.

Okay easy there snookie. I went to a TTT law school and had a horrible LSAT score (first and only test i've ever bombed) and my childhood was far from stellar. So please, chill with the dramatical crap. I'm simply saying, if you don't have the numbers for autoadmission to one of the 20 worst schools in the country, you probably should consider something else.

For what it's worth, I know an around median New England grad that's done well for herself. She works at a well regarded midsized firm here in Portland. If you want to attend law school for the right reasons (not necessarily a six figure job), do it, and don't let people discourage you.

Re: New England School of Law (NESL) 2010
People here can be so cutthroat. I know plenty of people who went to John Marshall (Chicago) and are doing very, VERY well for themselves. If your dream is to get a job in NYC making $100,000+ out of law school, then of course going to NELS won't cut it. But it's ridiculous how everyone here assumes that people who don't finish in the top 50% of the T14 are worthless pieces of trash.
There are many different paths to success and fulfillment. I need to remind myself of that when I'm here sometimes.

Re: New England School of Law (NESL) 2010
I completely disagree with what you are saying. For the record, I was accepted to a T1 in the south but would probably choose a worse school in the northeast due to location, and especially if I receive good money. Your autoadmit comment however is an absurd statement. Law schools get a tremendous volume when it comes to applications. Also, some people get denied because their scores are too good. That is besides the point though. All I wanted to know was whether Id be receiving a decision soon because they switched the date.reasonable_man wrote:Jerzeegirl wrote:Uncalled for. I'm starting to get tired of people trashing other people based on what schools they go to. You see it all the time in those Cooley threads. What purpose does it serve? I mean honestly, what kind of person derives pleasure from putting down other people. Is your life that pathetic that you need to insult people that go to Cooley?
