Waitlisted at safety!?

Post by elle » Wed Jan 27, 2010 4:35 pm

Hey all,

I just got a waitlist letter from George Mason University. I applied with a 3.65 and a 169.

How could this happen?

Thanks

Probably the same reason as in the other thread.

I am trying to understand why I just got waitlisted at GMU with a 3.65 and 169.

Any ideas how that could happen?

Thanks

Edit: Didn't mean to sound terse. Send them a letter to let them know that you are interested in attending.

Those are pretty much auto-admit numbers for Duke, Michigan, and Cornell. You should contact them and express your interest.

A lot of posters here keep citing this, but: yield control?

I'm not sure how much of an excuse this is, but it may be that they believe you aren't interested in attending due to your numbers and don't want to offer acceptance to someone who will withdraw and ding their statistics.

Send a LOCI explaining why it's your dream choice?
