When was the first deposit due for UNLV?

Been In Review since 12/15/09. Hoping to hear from them once space frees up... or when they find my application jk.

it was due last thursday. I sent mine in the monday before. They got it today and emailed me to let me know.

No not 100%. Something drastic would have to happen to make me not want to attend, though. I'm really falling in love with Vegas from the entertainment opportunities, relatively low rent costs (compared to where I'm from in New York at least), the beautiful landscapes and outdoor activities.

The one thing I think would put my attendance in doubt is if UNLV falls out of the top 100 all together. I realize that the rankings are rankings and that might be a silly reason since UNLV is in the bottom quater of the top 100 anyway, but my other option is Tulane and I don't know if I could choose a school that had that type of big drop over Tulane.

Honestly, I'm not sure, but it could be.

At minimum, it means someone picked up your application and looked through it. If you're still 'In Review' it might be a kind of inter-office, unofficial wait-list. That might mean it could still be a while. On the other hand, it's April already, so I'd imagine decisions have to be going out soon anyway, unless you're -really- on the bubble. LSN is kind of hard to interpret, but from last year it looks like all but one decision was made before May 1.

I think such a drop would hurt the regional placement (esp. into Cali) but would be mostly irrelevant in terms of intrastate placement. As the only game in town, UNLV could pretty well be at the bottom and it would still be the biggest placer in town.

That said, I actually expect their ranking to go up ~5 spots. They have some very highly ranked programs (writing, clinical, etc) and, as tuition has just doubled a year or so ago, their spending per student should have gone up accordingly.

lol, oh of course. just received an email from UNLV saying that my file is missing a LoR.

so either the LoR that was submitted at the beginning of February was lost in the mail or it was misfiled / misplaced. gah. i'd liked to have known that sooner instead of having to bother professors again in the middle of exam time.

Was your LOR sent directly to the school or to LSAC? If to the school...shitty. If not, LSAC should be able to send a copy over...

UNLV was a paper application and they requested a submission direct to the school. I managed to have the admissions contact allow my recommender to submit via email. Yay.

Withdrew from my full tuition scholarship today after much deliberation. Nathan (dir of admissions) went above and beyond to help me out, so he deserves big thanks.
