Rutgers-Newark: "File Reviewed, No Decision Made"?

Post by Gunz353 » Thu Jan 21, 2010 1:39 pm

Has anyone else received this e-mail from Rutgers explaining a deferral on your decision? Do you think this is a good thing, or simply a nice way of saying, your alright, but were gonna see what's better first? Thoughts anyone?

just got the same thing...i suppose i could protect myself and all that entails by viewing it pessimistically but the fact remains that we could have been flat out denied. perhaps we made some compelling arguments for admittance but for (enter whatever reason you want here) they could not decide what to do yet. lets take it as a good thing bro, what do you say?

I just received the same e-mail. The way it was worded seemed to imply that stats were ok, but if someone better comes along they'll get your spot. The funny thing, for me, is that I was accpeted at Seton Hall a few days ago.

It's not a rejection...yet.

I got the same e-mail. What a tease. We might be in for a long wait.

Status Checker says this: "File has been read - no decision made."

So, I'm thinking we have been rotated back into the review pile for a second round. Hopefully, they don't wait too long. I just wanna know so I can move on with my planning! BTW, my numbers are fairly shitty for Rutgers: 157, 2.73 LGBT (don't know if that has any weight at all), worked full-time all through college, volunteer work, published paper, yadda, yadda...

Gunz, my numbers are fairly similar to yours, maybe slightly worse. I would be happy receiving that email because that means they are considering you. I have been complete since december 2nd with no movement whatsoever. I dont know what to take from that but I figure if they really didn't want me, they would have rejected me by now.

I received the same email on the 29th. My numbers are 159 LSAT, 2.9 gpa. I'm kind of freaking out right now, considering Rutgers is my first choice :(

Can you guys let me know if you hear anything from them? Thanks!

I got this shit a while ago and posted about it in the Rutgers thread. I figure this could be a good thing because, otherwise, we would've been outright rejected. So I guess there is some hope yet.

Also, how well does Rutgers place in NY?

Just got the email today, still waiting to hear from Seton Hall and St. Johns and already accepted to a handful of schools. 156/3.15, nontraditional student. Good luck to everyone else waiting to hear!

Same here. Rutgers is definitely my top choice. Keeping my fingers crossed! :/
