Held for further review at UGA - waiting room
What exactly does this mean? Is it an unofficial waitlist? Is there anything we can do to increase our chances of being accepted after further review? I am happy to not have been flat out rejected, I really hope this means that they gave my file strong consideration and just were not able to make a concrete decision yet, however they did not want to reject me. At any rate for all of my fellow "unofficial waitlisters" are you doing anything to try to increase your chances of being accepted after further review? Is there anything we can do.

Re: Held for further review at UGA - waiting room
My status checker gave me the same message today, it was the first response I had received from a school and has left me feeling a little nervous.
Do we know how this process works?

It probably means your LSAT is just under 164 and they will bring you on board once they get their desired number of LSAT scorers to raise their median from last year. Good ol' USNWR rankings...

I hope you are right d-cannon...I'm a 162/3.8.
I knew Georgia wouldn't be a sure thing, but it definitely is not my biggest reach school either.

How long were your applications under review before being held? UGA seems to have a quick turnaround time but I have been under review for awhile and not been accepted, held, rejected or anything else.

The response time was quick, almost too quick which is why I am not feeling great about the whole thing.
My more accurate dates are on LSN under the same name, but I think I sent it in on January 5th, got a complete email asking me to register for Inside Georgia Law on January 15th, and checked it today for the first time.

OK thanks. If they are giving a quick turnaround with holds as well I really can not figure out while I have not heard anything. I had assumed I was a silent WL/hold but if the holds are coming quick that does not seem to be the case.

I applied on 1/5, went complete on 1/8, and held for further review on 1/19. I really hope they are going to bring us on board when they get their desired number of LSAT scorers.

I went complete about a week ago and, after checking today, I'm in the same boat as the rest of you. 168/2.5 so, obviously, I'm not exactly helping their numbers any GPA-wise.

Complete 11/17, Held for Further Review 12/04. I've heard nothing since then.
I'm sure that if I just had one more LSAT point this wouldn't have happened, but, such is life...

The older I seem to get, the more cruel the world seems to become. Chin up, my friend.anothernancydrew wrote:Complete 11/17, Held for Further Review 12/04. I've heard nothing since then.

I never really went UR or complete (as far as I know, or it was just REALLY fast). When I got the e-mail that they had received my app, it already said held for further review.fulkersonr1 wrote:How long were your applications under review before being held? Complete and in review since 12/02. I am interested to see the difference between held and just continuous review.

I guess you can consider me a part of this hold/unofficial waitlist crew. Checked the status checker today and it says reviewed and holding for further review. Good luck guys!

Re: Held for further review at UGA - waiting room
I've been on hold since November as well with a 163. If 164 is the median, it can't really be a cut off?
I had friends last year with lower numbers get in. They raised their median from 163 to 164 this year. I don't think they are going for a 165 median this year.
Any other theories out there?

Nope and I got a 164 in december. I'm getting impatient...
edit: I called this morning and apparently they don't have a hard copy of my lsat yet? The lady said that "held" applicants will hear a decision by April 1. hth

That actually does help. We'll know before most seat deposit deadlines. Unlike UNC which says we'll know by May which is AFTER seat deposit deadlines.lawhawk wrote:Nope and I got a 164 in december. I'm getting impatient...

Re: Held for further review at UGA - waiting room
UGA is a big reach for me but my parents own an empty home about 20 minutes away from the campus so I decided to apply. I am below UGA's 25th percentile LSAT and people with better numbers have already been rejected. I went complete 11/23 and then held for further review in the first week of December.
Unfortunately, I don't think this is an unofficial waitlist. I just think they are waiting to see how their class is shaping up which they will have a clearer picture of once they announce the scholly information to the auto-admits.
Here's to hoping!

Complete on 1/15 and also held for further review.
My stats are poor so I realize I have a very slim chance to get in, I would love to attend though so here's to hoping! 2.63/165
Good luck to everyone else!

Compete Application on 12/9 and got the same message on 1/20...
Anyone apply to GSU? I just got in and I think it's not that bad... especially since I might get a full ride *fingers crossed*
